sitting on the buffers

The best way to drive a train is to use a raildriver and sit on the buffers to see where you are going. (Zoming from the drivers cab doesn't work since it magnifies and you stay behind the dirty window). I seem to remember that I once did this probably by siting a camera on the front of the loco. My question is can one do that with the stand alone S to C or do you need surveyor to do it?

You can put an outsideview onto the buffers,

Some of my locos have this when the trackman used to ride at the front of the loco ready to unhook the couplers.

"freeintcam" in the options file and you can sit where you like, sit on the buffers with the direction arrows and look where you like with the mouse right button held down.
