screen recorder woes. any ideas??

i cant find where it saved it to
nowhere on the pc.
media go will also not recognize screenrecorder dot avi file

says asf files not supported

i found the m-peg4 driver and it shows now

yeah, having problems with huge flickering now that wasn't there before

Be careful when installing some of these Codec packs. As a result of my efforts to find a video recorder and codec pack that I could use I now have a very "virus-like" program, "DNSUnlocker", that puts ads on all the web pages I view. It has proven to be a real pain in the b*tt to remove.
 
hi mates

after installing the mega pack, i have nothing but dramas

debut screen capture will not start at all, just wants to go on the net, which is blocked anyway
bandicam runs for only 10 minutes once
gadwin screen recorder, either 32 or 64 bit is now so jumpy that its not worth doing anything with it
shadowplay will not record or give me any options

in trainz 2010EE driver i now have jagged edges on trees, trains and buildings
much worse than before

i think i need to uninstall all the drivers and programs, clean the registry, then do a full boot scan,
and then install 1 of them again

i am at the end of my wits
no idea what to do
will give it some thought

I still remember when I had a Mega Codec Pack back in 2009, nothing but Dr. Watson popping up and crashing video players, lol

You should be able to uninstall it all from (Add or remove programs) without the need to clean your registry/drivers

a real good friend sent me the link to a mew free screen recorder
it works well, but still has flicker
everyone thinks it has to be in the recording rate somewhere, because on my screen there is no flicker

Hi Ron. I'm pretty new to creating and uploading videos, but I have a nephew who is very experienced in it and he is always happy to advise me on issues I have.
I have managed to get Shadowplay to work, and I made a 5 minute video with it that was originally 1.42 GB.
I used Handbrake to reduce it to 410Mb and it is on you tube now at https://youtu.be/x2JTZhGwBdk.

I'm in Ipswich as well... if you wanted to have a chat on the phone or even meet in person, I would be happy to do so and see if we could brainstorm a solution to your problems.

I had a look at OBS, but my understanding of it is that its main purpose was as its name says, its for streaming from your computer.

Well, I have to eat humble pie - Shadowplay was working I just didn't know it. It was much later that I noticed this strange little icon appearing on the bottom right of the screen whenever I started Trainz in Driver mode - that was Shadowplay telling me that it was recording. All it took was a closer look at the settings for Shadowplay and I was able to figure it out.

I have now used it to create my first Trainz videos.

you safe it to file and thats what it does.
i couldn't get it to record from window,
but it worked from game

first up is the station area of Ipswich


the first steam train in is the Boonah local which took 3 hours to get there at 7am
next comes the red Mt. Edwards railmotor
the sydney mail is next from brisbane,
then the Brisbane mail from Wallangarra comes into the station
after that we see the new silver 2000 class railmotor leave on its jouerney to Boonah - Dugandan
and it will give you a drivers cabin ride as if you were the driver

Hi Ron, I can see a lot of files in that Dropbox, but I couldn't see a video file... or anything that looked trainz related.

you should even be able just to watch it
