Routes Not Available

I am unable to use any route that I have downloaded off the DLS because it does not appear in TRS2004 after the Download has been completed can anyone explain why this is happening and what can I do to cure this.

Are you talking about driver or surveyor. Driver will not show a route until you have placed consists in the surveyor. Only routes you download with a session will appear in driver.

Also delete your world_cache_dispatcher.chump file and restart TRS2004. After it rebuilds, the route should show up in Surveyor.

And just to belabor the obvious, make sure they are in fact TRS2004 routes, as TRS2006 routes won't work and it is sometimes easy to download TRS2006 items into TRS2004. I have done that several times.
