restoring route from cdp causes dialogue about reverting or making changes

If there is a better place to report issues with Surveyor 2.0, please advise.

I don't know if this is a problem, really, but it seemed odd to me:

1) I made a backup of a route;
2) I edited the route and saved it;
3) I restored the route from the cdp;
4) when I opened the route in surveyor I got the popup asking if I wanted to confirm changes or revert.

What was that step 4 referring to? I had restored from cdp, so there were no outstanding changes that I had not saved, and nothing to revert to.

if you add a kuid(from .cdp), and you already have it installed, it might be different
so the question is valid, it could be the new one has additional things, or the current installed one

1 = you backed up the route before the edit.
2 = you altered the route and saved.
3 = you restored the route from CDP which was the route before the edit took place.
4 = the edit you did does not appear on the restored CDP route but does appear on the backup route. It is asking if you want to revert to the pre-edited version or confirm the edited version from backup.

Hi Gary25b
When you install an asset from a cdp file (or a folder), and the asset is already installed in some form, it will open that asset for edit. This allows you to choose if you wish to actually overwrite the asset with the imported version.

To complete the install, and overwrite the installed asset with the imported asset, click on the drop down box to the right of 'filters:' in Content Manager, then click on 'open for edit'.

Now select the asset you imported, and then right click on it and click on 'submit'. This will then submit the asset, and complete it's installation.

On the other hand if you have installed a cdp with lots of assets, and you aren't sure if you want to overwrite the installed versions, then follow the same steps but instead of clicking 'submit', you can click 'revert unsubmitted edits' to revert those assets to their already installed version.

Regards

Thanks. I guess then that the 'accept changes' prompt in surveyor is equivalent to 'open for edit' in content manager.
