Missing Assets from my own uploaded routes

Preparing to move a lot of my items over from TRS2019 to TRS22PE, I made a startling discovery. Several of my routes which were uploaded to the DLS from TS2019 are now missing dependencies on BOTH TS2019 and TRS22PE.

When I set them up for the DLS I made sure I had everything and the route did not have any missing assets. Once uploaded, I created a CDP, saved it, and deleted the route from my database. When I re-downloaded them from the DLS into PE, they had missing assets. Well, okay, I can get them from TS2019. Only I couldn't do this because they were missing THERE as well. I've deleted nothing from TS2019 other than the route itself, NO content. So, how can content simply disappear from the database? Is this some weird thing that happens if the content is pushed into a "package" or otherwise modified on the DLS?

This is really strange.

I download the routes/sessions regularly to check/repair them, 'packaged' is, I think, the gremlin.

I think you may be right. I did some checking and found that quite a few of the "missing" items had been updated to a new version number, or from KUID to KUID2. I suspect that's the fine hand of the content review board (or whatever the name is) that's changing stuff around to so doesn't work any more. Since I have 747 "missing" items, it's not likely I'll manually "upversion" every one of them. So, my own routes from an earlier build (say, TANE or TRS2019) will contain missing items I cannot "find" and thus make the route in PE useless.

Nice work, N3V.

I think what happens is not all built in content moves to newer Trainz versions. So you will have missing content by N3V because it doesn't exist anywhere except certain Trainz versions. And you can't copy content from like TANE to 22 because then you will have the missing texture error which can't be fixed by the PEV tool because the texture files are encrypted now.

I'm fairly sure this is what bit me. Certainly a shame that our own routes cannot be brought up from previous versions and not have errors that can't be corrected. That should never be allowed to happen. I wouldn't have shut out anyone using any older software I've written.

The biggest thing that bothered me was that pofig trees no longer worked in TANE and up and couldn't be fixed. One route, Reading and Northern used them but fortunately a person uploaded fixed versions on the DLS with the faulty pofig trees replaced. There are two versions, pre-2020 and 2020 and up and TANE and Trainz 19 versions.

I clone the st-rmm and other trees to the pofig KUIDs. It's kind of a pain in the you-know-what, but eventually I am building a library of replacements that will work as substitutes in any route. I am also doing it with the billboard trees, as it pains me to look at them in an otherwise great route. My only issue is that pofig did some species that just don't seem to be done by anyone else to this point, and often I can't really tell what species his trees are.
