Reskins thread: Must be your own work. Mostly 1024x768 I'd say.

Not available yet but I have permission from Ben Neal to release it, so I may release it soon. :)

After a bit of color tweaking and a photoskinned front-end:

Dear springtransit,
Have you ever considered getting permission to release that beautiful engine?

Well I asked for permission to release a reskin of one of his other engines a while back, and he said I could, so I wouldn't think this one would be any problem! Still, I might consider it!

Thank you, springtransit. That ATSF #2 looks awesome. Its not SP but I still like it. Besides I know someone who has not been on the forums in a while who would enjoy the engine. Wait, can you please change the number to number 1 and change the lettering to SP?

Thanks,

A SP engine, eh? Well I've never really seen any SP 4-4-0's looking like that, but I'd be interested in one! Actually, I think the Jupiter would be more appropriate for that!:o

Speaking of the Jupiter, here are the Gold Spike engines that I photo-skinned the front-ends of a while back:

In addition to the reskin, I also replaced their interiors with those of the V&T 4-4-0's. They don't exactly match up, but they are much more appropriate than that of the PB15!

So would you reskin the jupiter to become an SP engine or what?

I'll consider it. The Genoa and the Jupiter are 2 totally separate engines, as you know. The Jupiter would be more appropriate mostly because it was an engine of the Central Pacific RR, I assume you're familiar with that road! The CP was eventually merged into the Southern Pacific, so the Jupiter actually spent a good half its life as a SP 4-4-0, though it had been altered a bit!

See why it'd be more appropriate now?:)

Ah yes. Thank you for clearing that up for me. Also thank you for considering it!

Here is a string of NZR Northerner coaches headed by an early Dx on the Raurimu spiral.
The Dx is not my work but I have changed the bogeys to 42in,
the coaches are my reskin work and have just been uploaded to the DLS.

Interestingly, at one of the Railroad Fairs(not sure which one), to celebrate the Transcontinental RR, the SP had one of its diesels posing alongside an engine that was intended to represent the Jupiter, but it was really the Genoa standing in for it!:p

You know, I have no idea how to go about reskinning a loco or carriage or anything else for that matter.

Doesn't help English isn't my first language: my English is pretty good, but soon as things get technical... uh oh! :hehe:
