Be advised that one has Railworks fanboy cheerleaders with the same "everything is perfect, nothing needs to be fixed, never complain" attitude about railworks.
Opinions vary, I don't agree with some - for example the consensus is usually that Trainz surveyor is easier and more intuitive than Railworks world editor, after 7 years of the MSTS route editor, 2 1/2 years of RW and a year of Trainz I still find that FOR ME Railworks world editor is one of the best game editors I've ever used. The Railworks scenario editor is the complete opposite, it's nearly as bad as the Oblivion construction set. Building routes in MSTS is more difficult than either one, creating MSTS activities is easier than either one.

Mostly still applies, altho he's talking about earlier versions of Trainz when he mentions needing scripting knowledge to create sessions, true for TRS2004 but not for TS2010.
