Question about Controls

I've always thought the W should advance the throttle, S should retard the throttle, and X should zero the throttle so I went into the Settings>Control Settings to change it.

There, I noticed that several of the control settings were in red indicating a duplication. Specifically:

Reverse Train Heading ALT/C
Toggle Consists ALT/C

Camera Mode Internal 1
Primary (Vehicle Control) 1


Camera Mode External 2
Secondary (Vehicle Control) 2

Move Compass to Cursor SPACE
Ascend SPACE

Is this any kind of problem or is it just using the same key in two different game modes?

Correct, W is advance the throttle but S has always been zero the throttle and X has always been retard the throttle.

so I went into the Settings>Control Settings to change it.

I just checked and found the same here in Trainz Plus. Resolved by making the following changes:-

Reverse Train Heading ALT/C ---> I changed to C
Toggle Consists ALT/C ---> Left unchanged

Camera Mode Internal 1 ---> Left unchanged
Primary (Vehicle Control) 1 ---> I changed to Ctrl Keypad 1

Camera Mode External 2 ---> Left unchanged
Secondary (Vehicle Control) 2 ---> I changed to Ctrl Keypad 2

Move Compass to Cursor SPACE ---> Left unchanged
Ascend SPACE --->I changed to Ctrl Space

These have never been a problem because I have never used these controls.
