Protrainz Payware allowed to be distributed?

Hello all,
I was really wanting both the DL&W EMU from Protrainz:
And the more detailed MP54 Set:

I want both the motor and trailer in either PRR or LIRR Liveries on the MP54.
Please tell me and I'll PM you my email.

As far as I know, these may not be distributed without having the creator's consent, in this case Magicland's consent.

Wow, I was just looking to see if there were any updates to those MP54's, particularly the trucks. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the DL&W cars.

I don't recall them being named for birds, however. Are there any rheas or ostriches? Are they restricted to ratites, or do passerines and raptors get included?

That being said he notorious for not responding to Trainz emails, especially people he hasn't had dealings with before. I've talked to him about some stuff on occasion but not in years.

Hi,

This is probably not going to happen either, but what about his Freeware? I'm after the Lightweight Passenger car which he re-skinned in both the CN and Great Northern Liveries. I know that some of PT's content is on the DLS and that there are two cars already there in the GN scheme, but these are the heavyweight cars. It'd be a real shame not to be able to run the Lightweight Cars for the GN with some of the great EMD F7's which exist now.

Any leads would be appreciated...even if they lead to a dead - end!

Jeff (Magicland) only allows his content to be reskinned with his specific permission. I know this because he allowed me to reskin some of his content but only after he saw my reskins.

He is very talented from the days gone by and I wish he would return, but then that's his business, not ours.

Jeff did some really great work, his boxcar splines were a treat to reskin, at the time they were the only way one could fill a yard without bringing the pc to it's knees, probably still is.

Yes I loved his F40PH's. I always reskinned them to MTA, MBTA etc... Its too bad he left . In fact it feels that jaleel is the oldest still playing content creator around. Landrvr and Magicland left, and jaleel is a lurker. I hope they come back.

So there's no way to get these coaches with the full interior? Do they have an interior view to ride in the coach? Too bad creators of great stuff either never finish/release their content, make it payware or gold members only, or go out of business and disappear off the face of the earth. Plus, they make it hard by placing restrictions on the reskin and distribution of their content which makes it unavailable except for the lucky few that have it and the creator himself. I have some stuff that is beta and the links were taken down since I downloaded them like the SEPTA Silverliner IV, Chicago silverliner cars by landrvr1 Scott Struik, a 4-6-2 by Marlboro (no tender). If I would ever lose the original files, I'll be screwed since there's no way to download them again unless you find someone that has them that can email them to you privately.

I once had bought Landrvr1's NYC sharks then lost them. I was fortunate he released them as he did.
Same about Joram's NYC GP35s.
Who knows what the future brings.
I have found it extremely helpful to use an old 100MB hard drive as a backup. I dumped a bunch of content into it sorted into folders for where it comes from including things I never released or finished. With all I have, I do not believe I fill up half the drive.
Some users have more.
External enclosure hard drive backup is amazing and cheap.

I had an unused 150 Gig Laptop hard drive laying about doing nothing. I went to Microcenter, and for $6 I purchased an external case for it that had a built in Sata to Usb converter / controller and a read / write LED.

Best $6 I could have spent. I put everything I want to back up on it, disconnect it, put it away in a safe place.

Edit: On topic, I wouldn't hold my breath when it comes to Magicland's payware... I think that train has left the station for the last time......Most unfortunate as it is.

So I'm guessing that this payware such as the coaches with interiors are no longer publicly available? They're vaporware now? Would trying to contact him help? They are on DLS for free but no interiors. There are very few US coaches with interiors available, bendorsey made a bunch, so did whitepass, and there's a bunch of narrow gauge coaches with interiors, some rideable, and there's the blue comet coaches which I like the best to use as tourist railroad coaches, but I don't like the exterior colors so I found a way to make copies of the standard coach for myself and repaint the exterior for different railroads. Like I wanted dark green coaches, and maroon coaches. I found a Japanese coach with rideable interior that looks very close to a Reading Railroad arch roof coach, bendorsey's harriman's look close, too but there's no camera view in them. but problem is that you can't letter the exterior for a railroad name because the coach exterior uses a small texture to fill the entire coach.
