Problems Downloading CDP items

I'm having problems trying to import all CDP items. It wont let me import them.

And I try to drag th CDP item from off my desktop into the BIG WHITE BOX. And it wont show up in that box.

When i click on th CDP file without opening the DLS. it says

Unable to register Trainz URL registry key. And i hav TRS2006 the full virsion. and then wen i click ok it says.

Trainz installation Not found. Please ensure that You ran Trains at least once.

And i use it every day. What should i do to stop this.

That's the error message people seem to get if it's not installed properly on Vista. Try searching the forum for "Windows Vista" and you should find a few threads with the solution. It's all down to how you install it.

But if i have to reinstall Trainz. Would i lose all of my downloads and all my work.

Problems installing TRS2006, Windows Vista

I to have had problems with TRS2006 and Windows Vista, now resolved.
I recently bought a new computer with Windows Vista Premium and had real problems trying to install and run Trainz 2006 UK version with SP1 update.
After a lot of frustration, I found the answers on Aurans excellent Trainz forum from several contributers, I have put below what I did to solve the problems with their help.
Firstly, after trainz 2006 has been installed remove the video file in the Auran trainz directory /viedo and make sure that you run it as Admimistrator.
To do this, right click on the trainz 2006 and select properties, then on the tab called compatability, at the bottom of this tick the box to run as Admimistrator.
Next, to make the content manager work correctly you will have to give the following administrive rights the same way as above to the following.
The same changes as above process should be made in the Auran Trainz folder /bin.

TPS2006
also you ny have to change
gsc
gse
launcher
openGLextentions
Trainz
TraizDig
This info has been put together from information I was able to get from several members of The Forum and I thank them very much for their excellent help.

Trainz 2006 works perfectly now on Windows Vista.

Everyone here seems to think you have Vista. Anyway, the way you are trying to install the CDP sounds wrong to me. The way I think it should happen is that you open CMP and then from the top left drop down menu, select "Import CDP" (whatever) and then a window opens for you to find the CDP. Select the one you want and see if CMP imports it for you.

The way I install CDPs is double-click on them. Always works, at least, for me.

I do that all the time and it doesnt show where i saved my CDP. It Doesnt pop up
