Problem with AI Drivers (Bald in particular) in Driver Setup/Portal Properties

Is anyone else having this problem? For some reasons, all trains on my route using the driver Bald are showing as a black square (in Driver Setup/portal properties) instead of the picture for Bald.

I am using TS2009 SP4 (I know, it's buggy).

Any solutions/workarounds? (and yes I do have several trains using this driver, and changing it causes me to be unable to do anything apart from clicking the tick or cross or close buttons)

I think it's also causing my game to freeze frequently in Driver.

Shane, I'm running 2010 to build 44088. my Bald has glasses, cap, white shirt tie and a waistcoat and moustache.

Bald is a newbie....

 ...Bald, is so far down my list, there isn't a word for how low Bald is...

He is a choice for me, but if Bald wishes to be fired, do it...

I may rehire Bald, but Andrew is better...!

Could be a case of open for edit then revert to original?

For some reason, the Revert to Original option is not available on that asset (by lotharhake) - only Revert.

Any further ideas?

Unfortunately, the problem has not gone away. Is there any way of fixing a built-in asset so that it will work (without re-installing)

Shane

EDIT: Just found a new problem that may be related.

Sammesh,<kuid2:81150:51:1>

Error list:

Error: Texture 'yosemite/dave.texture' is missing or could not be loaded for mesh 'yosemite\yosemite.im'.
Error: Texture 'yosemite_lowres/dave_lores.texture' is missing or could not be loaded for mesh 'yosemite_lowres\yosemite_lowres.im'.
Warning: This asset does not have a mesh that is visible by default.

It's being used by:

Yosemite Sam,<kuid2:81150:50:1>

Might this have anything to do with the Bald-related problem?

Shane,

This sounds like something is corrupted in your computer. You might want to try a database repair and see if that works. The meshes and the image files are referenced from the .ja files and if the references get messed up, then weird things happen such as this.

Another strange twist to the tale...

Bald is now appearing correctly in Driver (will check in a bit in Surveyor), and for some reason the freezing has stopped.

All I did was replace my old pendolino trains with the new ones.

Weird or what?

Does he still have his hair?

Apologies for the slow response - he does still have hair.

I have checked in Surveyor, and his picture is still not appearing correctly, but it is appearing correctly in Driver.

Shane

Apologies for bumping an old thread, but I am still having issues with Bald - is anyone else having the issue of his picture appearing as a black box in Surveyor? (I believe it is also causing script errors)

If someone else has had this issue, and has fixed it, let me know.

EDIT: If it cannot be fixed, is there any way of replacing all instances of Bald with another driver character in a session (without having to go into each portal individually, if possible)?

Shane,

As you know, your system specs are similar to mine but I have not seen this problem at all. I have just editted one of my routes to introduce Bald to it and find that he shows up fine in surveyor and driver.

I cant find him on the DLS but would it help if I export him to cdp from my installation and e-mail him to you? You could delete your current version and install the new cdp to see if that helps

PM me your e-mail address if you fancy trying this

Andy

Shane,

e-mail in your inbox. The cdp is showing as a 2006 cdp and not cdp2 but it has been exported out of CM3.3

Andy

Received email OK - just installed into CM3.3 and am now about to test it - will report back after testing.

Shane

EDIT: Still no change - I'm now attempting to change the affected consists to a different driver.

Unfortunately, DriverDave is a locked asset, but I have found one on the DLS under the same name, which I am testing.

Shane

EDIT: Still no luck - I have allocated a different driver to the affected consists.
