8) I was working steady with '04, so I decided to wait on '06...
...then The Mighty Euphod mentioned he was into '06.
I found '06 better in graphics, CMP as a handy tool once you get to know it, and everything works on Vista Prem.

Same as most people here, I bought 04 and loved it. Bought 06 and eventually TC and just went back to 04. Although there weren't any visual headlights during the day, those things very very minor. I like not dealing with CMP mainly.

I really enjoyed TRS 2004, then upgraded to 06 and found it had LOADS of teething problems, however, once I figured out how to best handle CMP and all the various said "teething problems" I like TRS 2006, and I have not had any major problems with it in well over a year and a half now.
Though I'll admit, when it first kept breaking, I very much gave up on Trainz, but I gave it another shot, and now its all going quite well.

Is the same poll being advertised in the French, German and other sections? This one needs wide coverage to be meaningful.
I ticked both '04 and '06, because this month I used '06 as a paperweight to hold down some bills on my desk.

Started with 04. Got 06 when it came out. Liked the graphics ran smother on my computer but CMP Gave me fits. It would work fine for a few days then all of a sudden it throws a hissy fit and won't do a thing for a few days. That's the main reason I'm still creating for 04. Im with meridious.

I use 2004 for testing my creations! Only run 06 if I think I can help some one with a problem (very rare!) or need to import some content over to TC.
Mostly I use TC - everything I make is destined for it and then I port down to 04.
Hope this gives some kind of valued feedback!

I initially started using 2006 to trick Backyard into using it too. I had some tribulations with it, but found the database approach to be very handy. I never went back to 2004 because I like the headlights on.
I like the advances in TC, but do not use it because I am basically a herd animal, and the TC herd is too small to ensure the safety of this bloated, slow, weak and feeble member. Just the other day as we dashed across an alligator infested river, I found myself thinking;"Gee....what a mighty herd we would have if we were all on the same page!" Then I was distracted by a horsefly or some junk.......
If 2009 can truly unite us all (one version to bind us), then I am gung ho and ready to go!

I originally got TRS2006 (Merscom), buit I also bought PTP in thinking that I could, among other things, make use of the German I'd learned. I kept using it for awhile because of the problem involved in using some of their newer addons with TRS2006. After the addon problem was solved (a big thanks to Partyman79 for this), I got TRS2007 (German version, first release) in the post as a result of winning it from VEB-TRS. On a side note, I have no way of proving this but I've been led to believe that I'm the only American who uses TRS2007.
Since then I've been happily trainzing with TRS2007, considering getting TC3, and waiting expectantly for TRS2009 and beyond

Though I have 2006 and 2007 (French) Gold, I use 2004 as Trainz was ruined with CMP. I am getting neither TC nor 2009 or any subsequent version if this CMP kurfuffle is sorted out (i.e. ditched so I can use Trainz Object and I do not care how CMP is tweaked I WANT TO.). Ditch CDP2 and get CDP back and make all 2009 content compatible with 2004 (including maps) and I might spend some cash.

Used to use 04 which I liked and wasn't going to switch to 06. Then for some reason at some point I decided to give it a go. I have found 06 unbeatable for stability compared to 04. Rarely crashes on me where as 04 was making windows 98 look like stable software!
Bit disappointed that some people still moan bitterly about CMP, I think it is a good tool with some flaws (which I feel can probably be corrected). People who refuse to use any version of TRS with it IMHO should get over themselves or be left by the wayside if they aren't willing to try something new and learn to use it.

Occasionally start up '04 to check out old assets used in '04 layouts and to assist in transferring maps across to '06.
CMP did give me some trouble originally with '06, but once I did my regular upgrade of the CPU and memory, virtually all problems disappeared!
I have bought TC but I personally found it rather limiting (after being used to '04 & '06 and the mass of additional 3rd party assets) so I un-installed it without registering it and gave it to a friend. I'll purchase TCv3 with the UK stuff as soon as it's out.
