After installing SP1 plus the following 3 hotfixes, i have tried launching TS12 at least 6 times a day for 21 days. My efforts have been rewarded with a Trainz Main Menu screen with no menu items. The only thing that seems to be working is the incessant download and install of 2 murchison DLS downloads. download completes and installs 2 assets with 0 errors. when dialogs are dismissed, there remains the main menu screen with 0 menu items, hence can't get to any route or drive a train.

I am currently deleting the entire N3V folder and will perform a fresh install. I WILL NOT install ANY patches after 49922.

Remember to temporarily disable your antivirus when installing Trainz.

Some have said that SP1 works great.

Perhaps you need 1 on 1 advice with someone who has had success with TS12 patchs

anti virus sofrware has been totally de-installed. computer is naked to the world.

No menu items usually means you need to reset your graphics settings, often it gets reset to default after a patch. Turn off the automatic download of DLC.

dont know where to turn off auto downloads, so i disabled network interface.

In game, main menu, options, general settings, untick automatically download DLC updates. should be disabled to start with in my opinion, it wasn't funny with all those DLC downloads starting in SP1 on first run with no warning or clue as to what was happening!

all that must be done is a database repair OR force update the cache by removing UserData\cache\libraries from your install. this should fix the menu.

Maybe your database needs to go on a purge diet. That will significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to do the updates, and decrease errors. I was one of those that would download anything and everything that I saw. Since, I have resorted to just local and favorite type items, especially since a lot of the content I didn't use after downloading just sat there. Just taking up space, and allocating database information. Also, not sure if it really helps or not, but I disabled the indexing on the partition (D:\ is where I set it up on) to avoid a double read/write on the drives. I went from a 554GB database down to under 70GB. Now, I just download to my home server first, then as I want it, import from CDP, and purge later if I am not really going to do much with it.

To all you gentlemen, my heartfelt thanks. It appears that the EDR fixed the main menu problem and I can get on with my creation. Again; gentlemen; thank you all.
