Patching issues

I was just updating my Trainz 2012 that I have on my more powerful laptop, and when it tried to patch from 48249 to 49922, it gave me this error:


Failed to create backup of file C:\Program Files (x86)\N3V Games\Railroad Simulator\bin\DebugInterface_7c.dll.pbk

Failed to apply the patch: 48249_to_49922
Patching aborted.



What should I do?

Do you have a digital version, so you can just download the newest install files? That will save a lot of problems.

Nope. Havn't I stated this one before. I have the "Just Trains" boxed Railroad Simulator edition.

What should I do?

A) Try to run the patch as administrator.
My guess is the patched failed to create that backup file because it does not have the (administrator) rights to do so.
Are you 100% sure you are actually on build 48249? Maybe you did not read or did not read the build number correct and as a result the patch gives some weird error because you are trying to apply the wrong patch.
B) Focus a bit more on reading (the forum descriptions).
You almost always start your topic in the wrong forum and it has been told to you many times already. This is about a TS12, so it should have been in TS12 support.

I was doing the automatic patching of the game, so it already had done patch 1.
