Patching failure ...

G'day,

On the weekend tried to get back into Trainz and then realised why I left it alone for a while ...

The first thing I did was attempt to patch my version of Trainz to the latest version without success. I then did a clean reinstall into another directory but still cannot get it to the latest version as this error pops up:

Patching from 49922 to 58414...

Failed to patch Builtin\ts12a.ja, file contents do not match

Failed to apply the patch: 49922_to_58414
Patching aborted.

Cannot get beyond version 49922. This is on a clean install of the game, never played ... so how can the contents not match? Any suggestions?

A clean install is not build 49922, so check what the actual build number is. This can be found in the bottom right corner of your start-up window.
Next step is to get the right patch. For that, look here:

Be sure that the number are connected. Don't try to use that 49922-58414 patch unless you are on build 49922. Since we are on build 61388, you might want to consider using a different patch anyway.

Hi George,

You may want to reinstall and patch up your fresh install then import and update the content afterwards. This has been a successful route for those that had difficulties patching due to one reason or another, which by the way, is usually caused by some form of data corruption that has gone unnoticed.
