Pantographs

Hello does anyone know of a rule or how to lower the height of a pantograph while running under UK cat on the DLS as at the moment the collector shoe is above the span wire and looks weird.I hope someone has an answer many thanks George

probably not...it would depend on the locomotive you used. Either use a different loco...or raise the wires on the route!

This is dependant on the catenary wire height. It's easy enough to set when you have a catenary spline point over a track spline point as they should both be the same height.

The problems start when you start to add additional catenary splines to ensure the wire remains about the centre of the track. This involves manually setting every height and the only way to check they are spot on is to switch to driver and run a train along the section. I asked if anyone was willing to make a simple tool that would measure the height but so far, I've had no response.

I think FMA group or someone else made a tool for that. I've never used catenary for anything on my route because it's a rare thing up here in New England.

You're absolutely right John but it's the wrong height to be used with the built-in UK catenary. I tried, believe me but thanks for the heads up.
