Ongoing Investigation: SP6 Route Performance & Redraw Issues

I don't know what they are doing to move it from using less CPU to using more GPU.
I would say see if it can be more, like another 10-20%, as the GPU should be doing a lot more work these days.
Give it a thorough testing with that before giving it to the public for testing.
Also, as I have asked before, what are the specs for the systems the developers are using?
Agreed. Even without SP6, Trainz will often use all of my CPU with my GPU chilling under 50% load.
 
A small update:
I've now also tested a map in driver mode, and I only encountered minor glitches; otherwise, it worked.
The stuttering is also due to my GTX 1070, which can no longer handle full performance.

You have 8GB VRAM on that GPU, it should be fine. Developers need to up the ante on getting it to use more of your GPU's resources.

i would really like one! i am on steam though i don't know if that is a issue
 
And another question, why is there already support for 4K textures, but there are still no 4K monitors?
This is totally off topic for this thread. 4K textures on ground or assets are not supported by any version of Trainz at present. But this is totally unrelated to the resolution of your monitor. It refers to the size of static image files used by the assets so that when you look at them up close they do not appear pixelated.

I forgot to reply to your message, but again: I also would like to test the Beta version. Especially to test the performance + a rendering issues with random baseboards at the corner of the screen being either not rendered or with artifacts (I first discovered it earlier this year)
