OK, who's been mucking it up this time ???

It's ok, N3V thanks you for your donation.

Well if N3v are going to let me have T:ane for £10, fine, best tell everyone that T:ane is only £10 (or $15 U.S.) I'm sure our American freinds will be VERY happy :hehe:

These are Auran assets - I imagine that the work to get the DLS updated in preparation for T:ANE release has had a side effect of some things disappearing. This is possibly (stab in the dark until Monday when the content guys will investigate fully) why the validation issues have been seen as well - with items going missing any dependent assets (that rely on the missing ones) will require validation.

I wouldn't doubt that either, Tony as that would make sense, but it kills Trainz TS12 for everyone else as TADDaemon goes off and validates the installed content all over again.

Perhaps this validation process should be reworked and rethought out again. Yes, it's faster in TANE, but there's nothing to validate right now in TANE. Once people install their DLC and import their older content, we will see a swarm of validations again. I know that I'll be told otherwise, but past performance in this case guarantees future results, and I'm pretty spot-on when it comes to gut feelings on stuff like this. Perhaps I and the rest of the community a bit paranoid and gun shy now, but after a week of frustration, we definitely don't want to ever have this happen again!

The difference this time will be different because we won't know what's going on since there is no diagnostic console (developer's console) as in TS12, and many users will end up shutting down the program due to lock-ups. Yes, I think about the user base and how things such as a tiny change can impact everyone. So having said this... Have the technical folks think ahead before implementing code changes. Have them think about the impact of a small change will have on the community rather than let things fly by the seat of their britches.

I don't know how to tell you this...... So I'll just say it..... But that kickstarter donation tag you have? You already bought yourself a copy.... Its guaranteed with any level of kickstarter donation toward T:ANE......

@Tony/JCitron
My real hope is that the "On/Off" games will finally be fixed for built-in Assets as of the 5/16/15...... I have literally found myself, in the roughly two weeks since I've been playing with TANE, in the position of opening up a "Payware" Auran asset (Though I didn't see the payware tag till after I did this), fixing its problems, and then unable to commit it because its got the "Payware" tag.... I'm lost as to how that happened in the first place.... But whatever....

Unless they changed things, according to the KickStarter page, $25 is the minimum needed to get a copy of the retail game, and even then, it's just a Digital Download version with full DRM that can't be turned off, unlike the boxed version. Just a guess, but, based on this thread, Blackwatch probably wouldn't be interested in the Digital version even if it was a part of his rewards.

Well, thats what I get for assuming something then.... Seems a raw deal, but then I never put any money towards TANE (being too broke), till recently. I thought I had seen it said elsewhere at least, but thats probably poor excuse for getting it wrong.

Cheers,
-Falcus

Your guess is quite correct Mr Signal :D, as for your statement about the minimum level, you are also correct, as is usual. :)
