Sorry to Zec, I did not realise that one should check on the status of tickets as there are replies to questions sitting in the conversation window. Thanks also to JCitron. The merging issue is now recognised as an issue and Auran are working on a fix.
Guys let me point some things. While trainz is very much, at time you will want to pull your hair out. Here's my suggestion. Stick with it, research your problem. The amount of knowledge your going to gain will blow your mind.
Also if your just starting out, do your self a favor. Keep a small pad of paper and a pen or pencil near by. Take notes. You'll soon be finding short cuts that you never knew existed. Here's a brief run down of my first experience with TRS 2006. I had no internet at the time. My knowledge was gain by weekly trips to the library. For six months I didn't know how extend my route beyond a single baseboard. Needless to say I wanted to pull my hair out. The more I read and experimented the more I learned. Now some years later, I'm producing high quality routes. My latest project is the CSX Willard Division which covers the town of Fostoria Ohio and CSX's new intermodal facility in N. Baltimore. You can my screen shots at my site and forums.
Simply put, stick with it and you'll soon be having more fun than you know what do with. Also, be patient. You're not an expert, so expect to learn. With that, stay safe and
