Just one pic, Tunnel 1 NIMT (as well as T2) has been redone...

Thought I'd try to put the HP track with bridgesound in the tunnel, works very well. Really feels like you're in a tunnel with the audio and visual effects. Ryan

Hello, I recently upgraded to TS2009 WBE and am trying to recreate the NIMT north of Wellington towards Paraparaumu. I have been admiring the work on these threads espically those by Ryan McC (Well Done) and am wondering if I could have any tips with what I am doing?

Hi nzms,

Welcome to the world of Trainz. Say goodbye to your normal life, this will take up lots of your spare time.

One suggestion is download The Johnsonville Line by Fender849. This line runs up to the top end of Johnsonville. Go to the north end and take note of the terrain altitude, write it down so you don't forget. Then start the south end of your route at the same altitude, this makes it simple to merge the two routes at a later date. I also suggest using either DEM overlay maps or Google Earth to get the line and terrain acurate. There are tricks to getting things right and there are tricks to doing the terrain without loading your computer too much, but have a go and see what happens. There will always be someone on the forums who can help with any problems you run into.

Cheers,
Bill69

Departing Upper Hutt. Just around the corner is a bridge. That's as far as the line goes ATM so ignore the red...

Next build - Upper Hutt to Featherston.

All that looks great Ryan, it's prettywell up to date too. I guess you must be around the Hutt somewhere. How come your location says Australia?

Cheers,
Bill

Love that waterfall Bob.

Thanks Bill. I am from Australia. I've been to NZ a few times over the years & have taken a heap of photos & videos so I can build the routes. Plus I just like to keep up with the NZ scene.

Must be fairly recent years, that big brown building to the right of the Upper Hutt station has not been there very long (last pic) nor has the next building to the north but the sawmill, farther north, has been there for a few years although it has recently been upgraded. Its the only sawmill in the Greater Wellington area with a rail line running into it.

Porirua Station

Can any one help me to find a building resembling the Porirua Station in Wellington?? I would do it myself but I am currently out of town:'(
Thanks,
nzms

Hi nzms,

Do you want the modern one or the old one which was there till about 1970 or so?

Cheers,
Bill69

Hi Bill69,
As I am building the line as it is currently, the modern one will suit better.
Thanks,
nzms

Hi nzms,

Have a look at kuid 179051:1024 St Austell modern station. That would be the closest I know of.

Cheers.

Just a couple of pics of the EO's first trip to Upper Hutt, one gloomy evening.

It was just built into 09 I think. Possibly 06 as well. I've certainly never downloaded any grass.

Hi Ryan, Do you have a kuid No. and/or assett description. I do not recognise it and cannot find it ( I possibly cannot see the wood for the trees)- I have TRS2006, TRS2009, and TRS2010.
Cheers, Fender :)
