NYCTA! pics!

When you combine Acelejalde's stations with my subway tracks, you get this:

I've added attachment points to the ends of this station. And with this one segment of track, the 3rd rails will always be on the correct side of the track.

Uh oh....

Just some screens from playing around tonight--

4T Island Station & Tracks!!

4TIslandStation.jpg

The 9-headed home signal I referenced in a thread on the NYC Transit forums the other day. This is showing to proceed on the main route, with the next signal being a 2-shot GT that hasn't been cleared yet (hence the "S")

Same 9-head signal, with my custom GT speed sign on the left

And the following three pictures are somewhat tragic...this is why you shouldn't key by signals! Thankfully these trains were empty, heading for the yard. The TO was in a hurry--nobody was seriously injured!

Even though classics is very limited in content, I still consider it to be a main simulator. I have added alot of 3rd party content such as EMD geeps, sd; dash 8 and 9 engines, scenery, roads. Once you have that, it's like a cross between trainz 2006 and trainz 2009. Man, those stations are highly detailed, especially the tracks.

May I suggest adjusting your textures a bit. The yellow pillars in the picture (linked above) for example are fairly over exposed (the lighter tones, show up white). This tutorial is pretty useful: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/levels.htm While written for photoshop, the tool used is available in GIMP, Paint.net, Irfranview, Photoshop, Fireworks, the list goes on (the Paint.net one is a bit different cosmetically, but in reality is the same)

If you have Photoshop, I would also suggest looking into a Shadows & Highlights adjustment.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion Peter! This is why I like posting WIP pics on the forums and getting the viewpoint of others. I have the stations in red, orange, green, and blue, in addition to the yellow above. I do have GIMP and I will fix the contrast on those colors, to make them more brain friendly!

P.S. BStyles--that el is lookin sweet!!!! :p

Wow: Wow!

Wow that's really impressive ExpressLine3Train! It's no lie that that is one of the most well-done subway tunnels i've seen so far.
Keep up the amazing content guys,
Eric :)

1 Track Bypass Station

Copied from my content creation support thread about earlier problems with these objects, below are the first shots of the entire NYCTA 1T Bypass Station, in game. I hope everyone enjoys. Now that I know that the problems are, I will be going through the remaining 30+ objects/splines with a fine toothed comb tomorrow, so we'll see how they come out. Thanks again and enjoy!

P.S. Pray to the content gods and make sacrifices on Auran's altar so that this project actually goes off without a hitch.....which I'm sure it won't. :p

2T Local Platform

Chugging along slowly, but surely! ;)

2T Tunnel View, blue lights and marker signal! :hehe:

Once I fix the tiny error with the third rail being too close to the platform, the next layouts are the 2T Island, and the 2T Island One-Wall Variant (Union Sq (4)(5)(6) and 42 St (A)(C)(E))

Awsome job there ! That tunnel looks extra sweet. The stations are still fantastic ! Very close to the acutal stations I see almost everyday here in NY. Keep it up

Gaps have been fixed!

Gaps have been fixed on the 1T and 1T One Wall subway stations/end pieces:

1T One Wall station--used here to simulate an "off-center" station:

1T Station:
1TStation-1.jpg

(G) at 1T offset station:
GTrainat1TOffset.jpg

Since the A & B Division Cars are different widths, calculating the overhang to close the gaps was challenging...I did get it right up to the B-Div cars, but there is still a teeny gap for the A Division, but not enough to cause a fuss. I think you'll agree.

A & B Division gap check. An R46 attached to redbirds?? Only in fantasy land folks

BDivGap1.jpg

Now, because of the gap issues, all of the stations have to be re-done in skp and in gmax. So, let's celebrate 2 sets of stations/objects successfully in game. Now I've only got 22 sets to go! ;)

Oh, and in addition to the 16 that were listed before, after some research 8 more configs have been added to the list:

1T Abandoned Station
2T Abandoned Station
3T Abandoned Station
4T Abandoned Station
(^local station set ups)

2T Abandoned Station #2 (1) Old South Ferry Loops, one abandoned platform, one "in-service"
2T Wide Station- Classon Av on the (G) inspired this. Basically a 3T with no middle track and double pillars...but since it's only using 2T, it's 2T! Will feature a different paint scheme than its 3T cousin.

And two more 4 Track Versions:
4T Island #2 Station (1)(2)(3) 96th St
4T Island #3 Station (J)(Z) Chambers St

They look similar, but they aren't!

Next up--we are finishing the 1T stations! New 1T Bypass and 1T Abandoned Stations will be shown tomorrow night!

Enjoy!
