NYCTA! pics!

More stations!

Just some station updates. I added a #15 to the above list, it'll be a two-track island station with only one trackside wall. This is for the layouts like at Union Square and 42 St/Port Authority where the islands are off-set but are still visible to each other.

Below are pictures of all the stations completed so far (minus the one-tracks in the other post). #02-#10, and #15 are done. Overall, just the three 6-track configurations (local, express [Hoyt-Schermerhorn], and the express w/bypass a la DeKalb Av) are left. I will be doing stairs/exits as objects next. The end pieces will be like Magicland's--objects only, and the platforms themselves will be splines.

6-track Express w/Bypass

Here is the new 6-track w/ bypass tracks (DeKalb Av), with the split walls, updated trackside wall colors and narrower beams! :p

All the stations are now completed. Just have to make stairs/exit objects.

Enjoy!

Wow: Wow!

Kick it up a notch? You and acelejalde are pure geniuses in Trainz. I am amazed at how well the quality of what you are making is and aspire to make at your level. I love both your underground stations for its variety and without a doubt your elevation with its very real and very true texture.
Eric ;)
EDIT: Acelejalde - I'm curious as to how you are planning to make the stairs to the train stations...Are you making it as a wall spline for your open ended stations or are you planning to make it its own station spline? (Just curious...)

WIP update

Fixed the "chunky" pillars and everything--here is an update (6-track station, like Hoyt-Schermerhorn).

Btw, the pieces with the walls are end pieces, and the platforms without the walls are the splines, like Magicland's originals.

Stairs & Exit Objects

Makin' Progress! :D

P.S. To answer Eric's question: The platform ends (with the walls) and exits will be stand-alone objects that can be attached to the station splines (without the walls). So, if you wanted to do a simple two-track island station your set up would be [platform end]--[station spline]--[station exit]--[station spline]--[platform end (rotated)]. <- That's just an example. You can have as many station exits as you'd like! :D

Wow:cool: . You have done alot so far. I think it's is possible to make the whole subway system since I think all of the real stations, tracks, stairs, signals are out there.

Impressive

Thank you for responding to my post :), I am very impressed with those stairs and the lights overhead. Tell me, are you planning on fitting the walls and cielings to Magicland's tunnels or making your own? (Just curious, the tell me was just the introduction to an interrogative statement, not a demand). I wish you and Bstyles luck with your NYCTA project.
Eric

Seeing as the station pack thereby expands the amount of tunnel pieces needed to create an advanced subway route, Magicland's tunnels would only work on some occasions before you run out of actual pieces. So the only solution would be to make an entire new set of custom subway tunnels to meet your needs.

Custom maps

Here are the platform maps that will be going on the end pieces and the exit pieces.

Btw, the map picture is of a real map that I hand drew in June 2010. The actual measurements are about 4 feet x 3 feet. I thought it'd be cool to add my own artwork into the game ;)

Thank you for letting me know Bstyles I look forward to seeing what you and acelejalde come up with to add to our surprisingly small amount of metro tunnels (I think I have at least 4 major subway sets, though Magicland's is the closest for nycta and I have yet to find proper subsurface tunnels for lu...i'm getting off topic...). And I'm amazed at how well that map was hand drawn acelejalde. Wow, just wow. I wish I was that good at drawing. Once again, I wish you two luck!

What I meant when I said kick it "up" a notch, I meant "elevated".:D The entire el pack is done. Warning, very large image:

I'll be getting back to the elevated stations ASAP.

wow! That surpasses what I am using right now!

Is there any chance of a set with an uncovered 3rd rail? If so, I could use these

Sure. Once I get started on the vintage theme i'll remove the safety cover and make a CTA version.

Now the entire el pack is in game and is nearing release(I have to test it first :p )

Alright, now for a brief knowing of the parts, fifteen in all. They're all track splines(except for the supports), so there's no need to worry about connection issues:

1 - NYCTA El Girders
2 - NYCTA El Girders and Catwalk
3 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd
4 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Diverge
5 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Diverge and Handrail
6 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Handrail 1x
7 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Handrail 2x
8 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd No Sides
9 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd
10 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Diverge
11 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Diverge and Handrail
12 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Handrail 1x
13 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Handrail 2x
14 - NYCTA El Support
15 - NYCTA El Support Double Height

The sixteenth CDP will be a test route showing you how to use the various parts properly.

I'll be releasing them on Tuesday. The first version will be compatible from TRS2006 to TC. The next will be from TRS2009 and beyond. The third and fourth will be mirror versions of these, except they will be vintage-themed, as originally planned. After that, I will work on the el stations, and then the elevated pack will be completed.

Awesome work, is there anyway that you could release just a catwalk spline so that it could be used as a path? I know that there are several areas in yards that use the same fiberglass catwalks for on ground walk ways.

Cool thanks man. Its pretty hard to find things that can be used for the Chicago L. How well does the track deal with sharp corners? The track I am using now does not handle them all that well.

I really, really, really appreciate it. Do you have a piece for Crossovers? just the rail without girders?
