BTW you have done a really gvood job so far:)

Ok, seriously this is REALLY getting annoying... Everytime I see this thread pop up I think he has posted updated shots but all it is people trying to get him to update them or trying to get a early copy of the route. Just a friendly request please wait for him to update us like he stated a few post before. He doesn't work on the route daily unlike most of us. He works on it when he probably can so please just be patient. And also, if you want to help him PM him and, if he isn't responding posting here will not do any better. Just wait for him to update us please.......

chill out i just simply offered my aasistence to him. after all, i'm sure he could use alot of help:(
besides i did not ask him for ANYTHING i just wanted to help.

Thats great but PM IS the better note because he will probably look at them first than digging up a old thread. Just saying...

Davis
Where did you get that wall or stone masonry viaduct that is on the side of this road.

It's dead.

Think about it for a moment. It is six hundred miles long, so it would have probably over 6000 baseboards. If Davis did 2 baseboards a day completed, it would take him over eight years to finish. But then he would in addition need thousands of pieces of custom content that would have to be made in 3dsMax. Add another several years, maybe more.

Davis is a nice guy and he has worked hard at this and has learned about making content and perhaps he will finish and release a portion of this huge undertaking, and I hope he does, but I truly doubt you will see the whole thing.

I think that we have a life to live. So trainz there are times that takes all of your time, and a route like this would take a big part of the live of Davis. See railworks NEC, is good but not the best, and if they have do it its because they are a team. I think that the good routes are made by good teams, because they work together and they can work fast. Im not saying that custom routes made by one trainzer are bad, but im saying that in team the things are made fast. One mate does trackage, another does the signal and the electrification, other does the 3d content creation work, bla bla bla:hehe:. So dont make Davis work like if he were a team. I have a custom route with custom content and isnt easy

Cheers
Ivan

Restart NEC route Team

I'm trying to establish a team who is commited to create sections of this route. The route will be divided into the following sections...

1-Newport News,VA to Richmond,VA

2-Richmond,VA to Lorton,VA

3-Middle River,MD to Willmington,DE

4-Willmington,DE to Philadelphia,PA

5-Philadelphia,PA to Trenton,NJ

6-Trenton,NJ to Metro Park,NJ

7-Metro Park,NJ to New York Penn Station,NY

8-New York Penn Station,NY to New Haven,CT

9-New Haven, CT to Mystic,CT

10-Mystic,CT to Providence,RI

11-Providence,RI to Boston South Station,MA

To apply for a section one must have a partner or more and enter the number of the section they want to complete(one section per team to relieve Stress). Be aware that it's on a first come, first serve basis. Once a section is claimed that the team must continue on their section until it's completed. Content creators needed. Cheers and good luck.

Section 4 was completed by Trainz Pro Routes and is a built-in asset in TS12. Minor note: There is a catenary spline segment on the southbound thru track in Delaware that is glitchy in the map. Suggest grabbing and applying spline height at either end of that river.

Section 8 should ideally include the New Haven Line from New Rochelle to Woodlawn Jn, the Harlem Line from Mott Haven Jn to Bronxville (to be merged later with Auran's Harlem Line through Southeast*), the Hudson Line from Grand Central E 42nd St to at least Yankees E 153 St (for simulating gameday service), the yards near Grand Central, and the future East Side Access tunnels which when completed will connect Grand Central to the LIRR Main Line.

For those interested in simulating traffic on the NY-NH segment: There's a bare-bones M6 on kurrasrailroad and a fairly decent M8 on TCR, both are freeware. The M8 has some weird thing going on with the a.light0 and a.light1 attachments that can be repaired in Attachment Maker. The M6 lacks separate door meshes, door animations, and passenger attachment points and queues, as well as an appropriate sound-script.

I would recommend adding these two sections as well, corresponding to the shuttle route on the Northeast Regional Service:

Section 8A-New Haven, CT to Hartford, CT

Section 8B-Hartford, CT to Springfield, MA

* This route has a random house in the middle of the line. Is it there for lulz, or is Auran just broken?

I've done Washington D.C. - Baltimore, MD already (including Union and Penn stations), but it's not finished all the way. I could finish it if your interested. :)

Just an interesting note for anyone who thinks this route (in its entirety) is impossible.... Take a look at the UMR. This super-mega-ultra-long route was a collaborative effort between ESO, gfisher, and neilsmith749 among others, and it is the biggest route on the DLS.

With a maximum track speed of 150 mph, the Northeast Regional goes BOS-WAS in around 8 hours and 30 stops. The electrified portion of the route is ~440 miles long. New Haven to Springfield is an extra ~65 miles, Washington-Newport News is ~175 miles, and Fredericksburg to Lynchburg is another ~130 miles. And that's not counting the commuter rail branches and the Empire Tunnel.

I might be able to help, at least, for the NHRR bit, but I'll need more equipment on my end. Plus my ability to create content may be limited by the fact that I'm working from a laptop.

Wow - that's quite an undertaking! While it is indeed possible, you'd need some strict parameters that all must follow in order for there to be continuity among all the different areas. The UMR is actually a little different in how it was put together. Probably 75% of the route was created by myself, and the remainder was routes which I merged into the original (with permission from ESO and gfisher), so it was easy to put things together as I was the only one working on it. Just wanted to clarify. I wish everyone involved all the best, as this would be an incredible route!

malikthr is working on his own route which (I expect) will include the NEC from the Delaware to the Quinnipiac. Perhaps we can get him on board?

You could have me to do the Baltimore to Washington I'm at near Odenton and finished odenton part from baltimore.
Edit This is my 111 post and the post count is 999

I'd love to do Segment 5, though I can't commit at the moment since I'm already doing a pretty big SEPTA route. But, part of the reason I'm putting out Philadelphia-area content, even stuff I have no plan on using, was so that I (or maybe someone else) would eventually pick up the ball. I'd like to see what happens I could certainly find the time to make some needed content, such as the Trenton or Holmesburg stations.
