Northeast Corridor Newport News, VA to Boston-South Station, MA (1024x 768 pixels)

I'll head into work Strech and you see if I can give you a track layout of Providence to South Station as I do that route everyday.. I could just tell you mile posts etc

That would be awesome if you could get me those track charts! That would be awesome, I already have Amtrak charts for the Line DC to New Rochelle and the MNRR is pretty straightforward so this would be awesome if you could send the Providence to Boston ones.

I'll PM you my e-mail.

Thanks,

Davis

Just keeping everyone posted...

As a lot of you know my parents are divorced and I can only work at this at my dad's house which I am hardly at (that's why its going so slow) but this weekend I am going over there (Friday sometime I'll go over).

Now I had planned to start work right away but my dad informed me that the internet conked out and that hinders me from doing anything. After hours on the phone with Verizon they determined that the router they had given us was in a faulty batch and was basically going to die one day or another and it finally did.

So hopefully they will mail us a new one by Friday but if not then things might be further delayed. I just feel bad not posting shots for large intervals but there's always one issue or another.

Thanks for all of your support guys!

Davis

Update 06.18.10

Well I finally got the Internet working (stupid Verizon issues) and I have started focus on the Halethorpe MARC Station area.

Here's a quick pic of the station as it stands for tonight:

You can see this part of the corridor is up to 4 tracks,

Trying out the new VBG/JR Amtrak units!

Here we have an early morning maintenance move with two P32's moving some empty ballast hoppers down to the Odenton MoW Base for the No. 1 track tie replacement project.

Here it is waiting at the at the 1031 Block Signal for a clear in Halethorpe:

This area (as you can see) is still a major WIP around Halethorpe. Here the train is seen proceeding South seen from a Medical Center Parking Lot:

Passing a flange greaser on the No. 3 track:

Seen same spot looking South:

Seen crossing the Patapsaco River:

At the end of the bridge we see two maintenance workers going up to service some catenary pole footings, as you can see Amtrak in real life was nice enough to build them steps up the steep hill:

Passing under I-195:

Passing South through BWI:

Going South out of BWI:

We now see the train passing the flange greasers on the No. 1 and No. 2 tracks approaching MP 104:

Sorry if someone has asked this before, but strench where did you get those platforms or stations used on your route from your post on June 19th last picture

@Tremain:

Yes I have done the Richmond and Ashland sections but just with track and minimal scenery. I have been working on the DC to points North part mostly. That area of the ex-RF&P really interests me too so I'm torn on what to work on next. I might work on that little stretch separately at some point because there is a lot of interest down there! Also, I have track charts and speeds for that whole section from CSX so I can do it realistically!

@trainz1001xd:

Thanks for the compliment! The platforms were in a route available at Trainz Commuter Rail. I believe it was NJCL 2 (North Jersey Coast Line 2). Registration is free there if you haven't already and as a staff member there I can tell you its a very nice place for the commuter fans out there!

@marinemania:

Thanks! But which yards are you referring to? The ones in Bayview?

Thanks to all out there viewing and complementing!
