Northeast Corridor Newport News, VA to Boston-South Station, MA (1024x 768 pixels)

Nice job Stench. I am amazed at the detail and quality of the route. The Amtrak equipment I have downloaded for the route, will be fun to run alongside MARC equipment and some Norfolk Southern action to represent freight action south of Philadelphia along the line.

Okay the fence ny 07 I believe was built into TC 1&2 and obviously everything built in there is built into TS2009 and TS2010 (the latter is what I'm running). So if you have TRS2006 you may not be able to get it, but its no big deal since they're tons of fences to use out there.

I found where I got the bridge. Its a great system of fully flexible bridges and abutments. It can be found at TPR here:

You need to register first but that's free so no worries.

@Isaacg:

Thanks Isaac! Well my PC is a custom build $2,000 unit (custom built by Mike O'Grady a.k.a. gandalf0444) and obviously I couldn't speak for performance on the average computer. It ran flawlessly initially but then the computer itself got screwy (due to bad RAM sticks) and so now. I am only running on 2 2GB sticks rather than the initial 4 2GB sticks, so its a little more average. Also, when I reinstalled the OS (Windows 7) I never got around to reinstalling my GPU's drivers so that further hurts the performance.

So I'd say on an average PC it should run fine and to further improve the performance one could use the "Replace Asset Tool" to sub in there own track for wooden and concrete tied areas respectively. As you probably noticed I was originally using MP Concrete and MP Wood but since neither of which were supported by TS2010 I used that tool to sub in new track and it worked like a charm. It replaced track over the whole map.

@PereMarquette1225fan:

Thanks man! I appreciate it, I'm sure this route will be a great place to run your trains. Speaking of freight we not only get those dinky NS locals down here but last Sunday when I was railfanning just North of New Carrollton (Seabrook MARC Station to be exact) a three engined, 160 car, empty CSX Coal train came through bound for the Popes Creek Line which wyes off just up the line in Bowie, MD. Now that was a scene!

Thanks guys for all the support!:)

Regional Through BWI

I did some quick driving and I just started to take some pics for the heck of it, the whole area posted is still a WIP, see I haven't even added the speeds yet lol, still the Auran default.

Here we have a SB Regional bound for NPN Virginia making an early morning stop at BWI:

Regional taking on passengers seen from the BWI Station employee parking lot on the NB side:

As seen from the NB platform, we have a full 8 car amfleet consist, with a baggage car and two AEM-7's:

Passing the flange greasers (for the tight curve into BWI). BTW the trains ditchlights are flashing, no light out lol:

Man, the Northeast Corridor route is going to be a blast to operate in Trainz. It'll definitely be better than the one in Microsoft Train Simulator. (I know, I've used MSTS and it was okay, but Trainz steals the driving axles. :hehe: )

The MSTS one was good, for its time, but it looks dated compared to anything seen in Trainz these days. It will definitely be better, since Trainz is much more fexible.

This simply wonderful route is getting better and better in no time at all, the whole Northeast Corridor will be a reality and Trainz will have a route fit for all. Plus, the constant sound of Amtrak, commuter and the occasional freight racing by. Keep up the good work, Stench.

@susanaes:

Thank you very much for the compliments! I am not currently up to anywhere near where you want pics from. I am in Halethorpe, MD as of now which is like 6 miles South of Baltimore and I am working North from DC.

@bryinmich:

Thanks and I run trains on the route all the time! Sometimes I just need a break from building and I just take a train out for a spin. Most of the time I drive all the way into DC from where I'm at but sometimes I do freight locals and whatnot. I can already tell you guys are gonna have a lot of fun with this!

@milkyoreo27:

Yup thank you for clarifying for susana.

@springtransit:

Yeah the MSTS one is cool but its outdated and pretty unrealistic. I'm kind of a rivet counter myself so I try to add a lot of infrastructural details and I like mine to look right, lol.

@kevp123454321:

Good to hear, I'm glad to hear you got the bridge you needed!

@PereMarquette1225fan:

Thanks man!

@Steveo241:

Thanks steve!

@Isaacg:

Strench is my last name but its commonly confused with Stretch, Stench, Stranch, etc.

No big deal...:)

Looks like one hell of a project! It's turning out to be such a gem! Keep at it.

If you need any soundscripts or any sounds on stuff changed, let me know.

Cheers,
Joshua

Thanks SFbuff, I'll keep your offer in mind if I ever need anything!

Susana, I wish I could have made that much progress lol, maybe in a 9 or 10 years!

lol well when you do make it to MA ill like to see what you will do with the subway part of your route. And if and when you make it to PA.,and NJ i just want to know do you have any SEPTA/Arrow trains?

Sorry if you already answered this but what trainz verison are you making the route in? I use Trainz 2006 but with a lot of assets I could see this being a problem.. You could sell it and make it into CD's lol..

Thanks guys for the compliments!

Susana I won't be there for a while but, maybe some day. In regards to arrows I thought I had some betas but I really don't use SEPTA and NJT stuff, I keep it to my locale on my route, not because I have to, because like to.

Inn I started this route in TS2009 (or maybe 06, I can't remember its been so long( and now I have it imported in TS2010 and thats where I've been working on it since I replaced all the track (a month at least by now).

I wonder if this will backdate to 09 from 10, going to 06 would be a stretch but if anyone figures it out be my guest to backdate it when its done.
