I hope everyone had an excellent National Train Day!

In DC someone mistakenly left the cab unlocked on a VRE car on the upper level so I kinda snuck in lol:

Here's the controls:

And here's me in the engineer's seat:

Ahh so your what we call a lock checker huh?:hehe: Where you check every lock possible in hopes that someone left it unlocked so you can sneak in.:p

LOL! Well how it happened was I knew the cab compartments were upstairs and the stairs up are in the middle of the car and no guests really knew they went to the second level of seating, so I was all alone up there. Then I walked in on the firemen's side and opened a door I thought was a closet but it was the firemen's side of the cab. Then I figured I just go around the other way for the engineer's side and bam I'm right there!:o

Nice, lucky find!

Reminds me of one time last summer on the DC Metro, I was sitting on the back seat in the last car.

For those of you who haven't been on it, the drivers door has the option to be locked from the dividing point from the passengers, or just against the cab control side itself, releasing extra room during peak hours.

Anyway I was looking out of the window. As the train descended into the short tunnel near Brookland, I heard a slam, looked around and realised the cab door had swung round to the other lock and I was now "in the cab". Took a quick look at the controls, savored the moment of being in the cab, then quite hastily shut myself out, as the train was full of passengers and we were approaching Rhode Island Ave stop. Looking back on it, I should have tried the horn or something!

Lol thats awesome, believe me being in that VRE cab car, I was tempted to blast the horn too but Union has some pretty tight security!

Yeah I saw that cab car was opened but didn't go into it because of heightened security at train day each year. They are replacing the old concrete slabs at BWI station check it out. You know I wounder why doesn't marc lease a gallery cab car from VRE fo MARC 877 west bound.

So that's who is behind this whole set-up!:p

Good job sneaking in undetected like that. Just as well you didn't blow the horn. otherwise you would be in a whole heap of trouble!

btw, I have red hair too.

Happy Trainzing, wherever you may be,
Scott.;)

Great Photo though !

You so lucky you dint git nabbed, and detained for introgation by the MIB...If anyone see's that photo of you in sitting the cab, the RR is going to institute a program, instantly, where all engineers will be directed to lock all cab doors.

Disregard my PM cascade I'll deal with it here. I saw the pic you linked and I just want to clarify that we are both using the High Detail ones because yours looks alittle 2Dish but maybe thats just what the screenshot did to it.

I'm thinking something may be screwed up with the file, try deleting it and redownloading it. I know I'm not doing anything special when laying the track.
