North Central Colorado

Hi Gisa,
Thank you and your wife for your encouragement!
With night shots, the tree shadows seem to work well for full moons or VERY frequent lightning (like last night) :)

Yes, this stretch of road is a reskin from one of Maddy's YARN roads.

Hi Jim,

It's my pleasure! Thank you for the information you gave. I suppose there is no chance of this reskin being released (Maddy25 was last active over 4 months ago). Still, I'm glad I haven't lost my sanity (in thinking that was a reskin) just yet. :D

Lookin' forward to your next pictures. ^^

Gisa ^^

Thanks, Bryan and Logman.

Gisa,

I checked with Maddy's license comment on the config file. It looks like she's ok with sharing modified content, with the understanding that she is credited.

I was thinking that if you by chance might already be using her "yarn_2L_DL1-Si+Sh" road, I could send you my modified image file, and you make a clone and paste it over the existing file. That way you wouldn't need to redo your road.

Either way is fine with me. Send me a PM with your email and I'll forward it to you.

Here's a couple more pics of the Black Hollow Junction area, including a couple touch ups and new shed/garage on that same property:

Looking good again Jim.
I love that backdrop, it realy enhances the layout alot!
Now lets get down to business.
And that business is, It is time to get that SD9 out...:p

Cheers,
Woody

Thanks Woody,

I've had to cut back on my help, so the SD-9 is gonna have to sit for a while.
It needs a complete overhaul...:'(

Howdy Jim,
Truly Awesome shots there Jim,As Dermmy said sum of the most life like shots in trainz.
Keep the screenies coming.
Cheers Mick.:D

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the information about maddy's road. :) I really liked your reskin because I find most roads I've seen use a yellow line instead of the orange line she's got. Her road is perfect for what I am looking for otherwise. I'll settle for the orange lines though.

I do plan on using her road set shortly but the problem is that I'd like to release the route when I finish it (someday). I would like to avoid a massive replacement/retweaking of splines if it is possible. To further complicate things, I'm building in 04 so I can't clone items.

Hopefully when Maddy25 gets back, perhaps she'll let you upload your reskin of the road to the DLS and then I could use it in my route? No worries regardless...

Thank you however, for your kindness is offering to help me out. :)

Great pictures as always! Your attention to detail is top-notch and your screen shots have so much detail with regards to items, shadows, location, colours that they are very real. I think many trainzers are eagerly looking forward to this as I am. :)

I really like the last set of screenshots. Is it me or is your work becoming even MORE realistic? Is that possible with just a train simulator? I really like the shadows of the trees on the buildings.

I don't know how ya do it Jim...But your shots are always looking more and more real.....To bad ya could not throw these pix and this project in the Model Railroader and as they do that monthly project update...Yours should be in there for this route...lol.....

All I can say is.....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK :Y
:

Mick (Matruck) and Bryan,

Thanks for your comments! :)

Woody,

Thanks, and you were asking about the length of the route. I'm not sure off the top of my head what the track miles are, but you can look at the maps on the 1st page of the thread and see where the limits are.

All the main lines and branches are done. There's still a couple smaller yards to finish up.

The northern limits are a few miles north heading out of the BNSF yard in Cheyenne, WY; about 75 miles north of Denver.

Here's a track section of the UP yard up in Cheyenne, WY. This will be fun when it's done.

WCL:

Thanks. I haven't read Model Railroad in a few years. I'll look into what you're referring to.

Gisa,

If you want to PM me with your email, I'll send you the road in a CDP. If all goes as planned, content that I've done for this route will be on DLS prior to when the route is uploaded.

This past week, I needed to go back and re-do some track work. Somehow, Surveyor was treating one stretch of track as a content object instead of a track object. It wouldn't let me delete it, until I deleted the KUID of that track and reinstall it again. Strange.....never seen that happen before.

While back in that area again, I added/changed some details to the scenery:

Well, it all looks great Jim! Are you sure I can't interest you in a glass of Kool Aid? Most everbody else seems to enjoy it!:D

LOL! That was good..... :D

I noticed as soon as you set down the pitcher, it disappeared......

Soon, many will experience what it tastes like without the sweetener .

Hi Jim!

Great shots as usual! The detail you've done with the houses always amazes me. It brings back many memories as a child (when we went our annual summer vacation to my grandparents cottage).

I will PM you with my email shortly as I would be happy to use this road. I will swap it into the map once it's on the DLS. :D

As for the odd error you have...those happen in trainz I guess. Nothing's perfect...at least you haven't had the random *cliffs/depressions/save error* thingy yet. That's always fun to get around. Still, you did the right thing (delete and replace). I get that error with switches sometimes.

Looking forward to your next batch of pics. :)

Thanks Gisa,

I hope the road works out for you :)

Out east of I-25 heading into the flatlands, you can find old Colorado & Southern road bed that hasn't been torn up ( looking west).

The ghosts of sugar beet and track laborers also remain.

This stream runs close to Baker Lake and the Larimer & Weld county canal. There used to be a C&S bridge at this spot. Looking west are where the tracks abruptly leave off.

Wow Jim, very nice indeed! Thanks for posting those latest screenshots. Maybe someday do you plan to revive the old line or keep it "as-is"?
