The " Nickel " on the caboose has been fixed!! the whistle has been updated ( Needs a little sound adjustment in my opinion) The whistle is fabulous, but its just a tad low sounding. the sound of the steam is high pitched. the " Chug" of the engine is a little low pitched. the bell is great I would love to increase how loud that bell is so I can hear it better. But other than that it will serve its purpose until my suggestions have been resolved. Great job guys!!

How does one get this update? My out-of-date tab says "There are no items to display".

Edit: It seems (I hate to say it) I am in the same boat as Termin. I rarely use these assets but I just noticed under my "Faulty" tab:

I am not sure, I loaded Trainz and then the update began. I just waited on it to be fully done. Then it was complete without error.

OK, I got it now. I had the "Auto Download DLC Updates" unchecked. I checked it and restarted Trainz and it came right down and the missing dependencies disappeared:

Is it just me or can you hear the whistle very well close to the engine... just wanting to see if you could back me up on this one.. same goes for the bell.. once they get their sounds organized then this will be the best steam engine on this game for sure!

I can hear the bell very close to the engine. The farther I get from the engine, the bell sound gets fainter. Same with the whistle, but not as much as the bell. The whistle is still quite loud even if I am very far away from the engine.

The sound seems really messed up with this update. I can barely hear the bell, regardless of where the camera is. The Whistle (still sound wrong to me) is pretty faint as well. The general engine sound seems alright, however the steam release sound is WAY too loud.

While I'm talking about steam release, no matter what I do, when in DCC mode I am constantly releasing steam. So there is this constant (very loud) HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS coming from the engine. I know prototypical you don't want to be releasing steam that much, but this is ridiculous; I can barely hear the detectors & can't hear the crossing bells at all over the noise.

One last thought, the NKP Berks were black not blue.

Did Caboose updated already? How?:o

I will create the real whistle and bell if they would use it... obviously, the amplifiers in sound editors did nothing to that one a whistle on a steam train goes LOW - HIGH - LOW - FADE OUT. in my opinion. Let me see what I can do with some sound recordings of the real thing..

Good Morning All
I'll post this one here as well :)

We have no plans to update the NKP High Speed Freight Pack further at this time, unless a major update is required.

Yesterday's update includes several improvements, including a custom whistle and bell sound (provided by Steve Lerro of K&L Trainz), and a new enginesound sourced from the DLS (by wva-usa), as well as improvements to smoke effects (including animated cylinder drain effects operated by pressing alt+D on your keyboard ), and of course the fix for the caboose textures.

A run yesterday, for me, had the whistle still being quite clear from quite a distance (about 200m from the loco - this was working hard at about 35MPH - had quite a load behind it!). The bell is relatively quiet, as it should be at a reasonable distance. Whistles are a very subjective thing, and the actual sound will vary depending on how the whistle is 'played' by the driver and the boiler pressure at the time. As such, this is something that, no matter which sound we use, it will not please everyone.

I should note, the above run was performed in cab mode (I did lift the safeties a few times, but mostly I was working hard enough that I was struggling to keep pressure up...).

I noticed a bug in TS12SP1HF4:
If the locomotive is running backwards in the AI-mode, the whistle and the bell are not working.
