NEW Zig Zag Railway!

My new Lithgow Zig Zag layout is my first ever DLS upload, and can be due in about a month (at the rate I work). This thread is devoted entirely to it. Weekly progress updates, and most importantly, screenshots. Sorry, TRS04 users, but this is TRS06 work.

Hey nice layout there! Great job on it so far. I also noticed the old caboose behind the station. Nice touch!! You know, just as a though, perhaps you should use the parking lot spline instead of just paint. It is nice and neat and already has lines and end guards on it. You would have to raise the cars a bit so it doens't look like the wheels sunk into the pavement. lol :Y:

Hi Kuji. Thanks for the comments. Just for reference, the carpark at Clarence is entirely dirt, and the caboose exists as a storage shed or something. Thanks again, and I have a feeling this will be a popular thread!

Ya what do i know, i guess if you were doing a city, then u would use it. But either than that, great job again, and can't wait to see this one come out!:udrool:

UP5521, I recently took a road holiday and went through Lithgow and Zig Zag was high on the priority list. Even though we were hauled by the diesel and not the C-17 steam engine.

Hi, me again! I did get round to texturing, finishing the line to Bottom Points and the main line down below. Some screens from my trial run.


Heading up the range from Top Points to Clarence.


Viaduct 1 and Tunnel 2 with main line down below.

Good news guys. I have finished texturing and have done trial runs with AI.
All trackwork is finished, just need to vegetate the route.

DD17 No.1051 above on Viaduct #1


XPT below on the main line, DD17 1051 on top road


A triple header from the west looking up to the Zig Zag.


C17 No. 808 on Middle road.


The two trains meet at Top Points. This station has since been upgraded to two platforms.

Finally, the DD17 backing down middle road with a freight and the Western XPT.

The route will be on the DLS tonight:clap: , just after I fix up the fully automatic session that goes with it. Yes, I said fully automatic, completely AI controlled. By far, this is the quickest route I have EVER done. Ever! I do hope you all enjoy it.

WOOOPS! I am having trouble with the upload. I am getting the following message;
Error: Upload failed. 'NOT LOGGED IN'
Does anyone know a way around this?
EDIT: pay no attention to that post, it worked out eventually, expect it on DLS tomorrow morning! (?):clap: "Yes! I am invincible!" (ish) (From the James Bond movie, 'Golden Eye')

I uploaded this some time ago, and it still does not appear in the DLS. Can anyone confirm that, or can I not view my own content in DLS? If it isn't there, I'll upload it again.

sorry to dig up an old thread but i cant find this in the dlc, im really interested in the zigzag railway so if you can retry sometime it would be great

Steve, I think he mean try to upload it again, and be a little more easy on him, he's a first timer.

Thomas, since you are new, you should read the CoC to know what you can and can't do. Also, to let you know early on, asking for content is often not appreciated unless the creator asks for requests, which happens very rarely. Another thing is to not post your every last thought on a subject, there are many perfect examples from a certain user, who will not be mentioned. One more thing, don't get beat up from a mean comment, the only opinion that matters about your posts is yours, and the moderators.

So I welcome thee to the Trainz Discussion Forums, do not be afraid to ask questions ( that are appropriate, I might add!) and also, just enjoy the company of other lovers of Trainz.
