Blackheath Down is about finished and will be coming in two versions, one with Norfolk track available from the DS and one with VSR track available from http://www.vsr.org.uk. This route was once Rosworth but there is virtually nothing left of the original now and I believe it is just about unrecognisable, it has taken me long enough, so everything has been changed. All trees removed/replaced, the terrain has been altered dramatically as well as the texturing making it a brighter and 'livelier' layout. More industries and stations (some having Royal Mail facilities), new track, the tunnels have gone as have long single line runs, apart that is, from a new 3-station branch Line I installed. There are more baseboards too so this creates a longer run and with a 4-track main line and the Priority Markers on the centre tracks set to 1 it is easily possible to separate local and fast traffic and expresses run one end to the other non-stop, great fun. The main lines are 4-track the whole length of the route but reduce to 2 for the circuit along the coast. New docks and a naval facility and a China Clay working are just a few of the innovations included.
I have used red Markers to ‘aim’ at some industries so look out for those, this will speed to train (consist) to very near its target, otherwise they grind to a halt about a mile and a half away and crawl along at 20 mph! Using these markers will speed up running on main lines.
The Priority Marker in the Lake Valley Flour complex might be best set to 3, otherwise trains tend to run there instead of the slow main line. And apart from those few things that need doing, Priority Markers always change back to 2 when a route is saved as new, all you have to do is place your stock and enjoy.
The route has been created in TRS2004 btw, so will be available for all versions of Trainz after that.
Both routes sent up with successful uploads (I am told....)
