new route uploaded - Caney Fork RR

leeferr

thanks for the memories
I've just uploaded a new route and also a base session for it. It's called the Caney Fork RR - Crystal Lake Division and the session is the Fort Gorman run.
The route is 106 boards extending from wheat and oil flatlands to hill country. Here are a few shots.

How many KB is it? How much custom content is used?

I think the route is about 10.5MB. There's a lot of custom content, but I believe it's all on the DLS. I might be mistaken as I haven't checked all of it for availablility on the DLS, but I try to limit myself to content on the DLS. The main problem is that there just isn't an easy way to identify what's on the DLS and what's not. I haven't checked the FPS, but it runs fairly smoothly except in a few spots where it caches some. Overall, I'm fairly happy with it and I've had a lot of fun running it except when an AI decides to run a red board.

Found three items not on DLS, seeing a familiar KUID, I did a web search and found them at Sirgibby's TrainZone, the first is in Floating Logs.cdp, the other two in Ground Logs.cdp. These items are:

<KUID:44700:22046> (Range: Foliage)
<KUID:44700:22065> (Range: Foliage)
<KUID:44700:22072> (Range: Foliage)

I apologize, but I thought they were on the DLS. I received no message from Auran telling me that they were not on the DLS when I uploaded although I did get a message that the ProtoLars tracks weren't on the DLS. These are apparently logs that must be a dependency of the logging camp. I didn't place any logs that I recall. Again, my apologies. I hope nothing else is missing.

hope you enjoy it. There's one sample session on the DLS. I'm working on another, but not happy with it yet.

I'm not to happy that you have to downlaod all of that rolling stock for the route. Could you make a version that doesn't include the stock?

I'm really sorry about that. The rolling stock was in the session. I didn't realize that it was in the route. I'm rather a novice at uploading routes and sessions and I'm not sure why the rolling stock uploads with the route instead of the session. When I open the route (and not any sessions) in surveyor, no rolling stock shows up.
Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks

I believe that when you save a session, it saves the same info to a route. If you use TO, you could download everything else individually like I did, then delete the rolling stock/engines.

I'm really confused as to why session information is saved to the route. I thought one of the purposes of sessions was to be able to use different stock in each session if you so desired without affecting the route.

If I've uploaded a route and session and then upload another session with different rolling stock later, how does the rolling stock information get passed along if the rolling stock information in the config of the route that's already on the DLS doesn't match that of the session that's being uploaded.

Even the question is confusing:'(

If you are using 04 the you can use Trainz Objects to remove all rolling stock from map.
Select maps tab, use drop downmenubar to find your map.Let is find all object used in you map. When done right click , look for "remove rolling stock from kuid table". That should work.

I have only uploaded 1 map but did not have to do that. So ask somebody before trying.
Kenny
Ps if you are using 06 i dont know what to tell you.
