new route uploaded - Caney Fork RR

Rolling Stock

Howdie Leefer

Just a note. downloaded your new layout. looking forward in merging with your other 2 layouts.

Noticed on the DLS, under your new layout, that rolling stock is included in the download list as a dependancy.

Sessions are usually uploaded by themselves. The main map/layout by itself. It looks like the first session and main layout is on one download

I believe that when you save a session, it saves the same info to a route. If you use TO, you could download everything else individually like I did, then delete the rolling stock/engines.

Is there a way to remove them from the route without DL them?

I think I may try deleting the rolling stock from the route config and upload a new version if I can figure it all out.

Installed and ran part of session 1 and everything works great. A bunch of stuttering here and there, but it be great.

I did notice, on looking at Caney Fork and my copy of Ashland-Sherwood that Crystal Lake runs East-West in Ashland-Sherwood and is a much simpler version of Crystal Lake and the Caney Fork run North-South.

I haveta really think about this merge.....maybe make Ashland-Sherwood Crystal Lake into a junction "Crystal Lake Junction" and merge at the portals..

What do you think,

Jack:hehe:

P.s. Caney Fork RR is an excellent layout. Keep up the great work:wave:

I had planned on creating a set of merging boards for the Ashland-Sherwood and the Caney Fork, but I hadn't had time to work on it. If you'd like to have a go at it, feel free. I hadn't thought about the portal locations although that would probably work fine. I was thinking about joining somewhere to the east of Sulphur Bottom as the elevation at that point might be easier to work with, but anywhere would be fine.

I'm glad that you're enjoying the route. My first routes, which I liked at the time that I built them, are actually not too good, but as I gain experience, I think they're getting a little better. I'm sure the Caney Fork has some glitches in it, but I'm fairly pleased with it at this point. If I revise it any for a version 2, I think I'll put in some lead trackage on the south end of Crystal Lake.

Enjoy and if you have any suggestions on anything that I might include in my future route building, I'd be glad to hear them.

Mike
