New Patch

Hi All
I have pulled the announcement temporarily, and am sending a report to the team regarding.

I was able to reproduce it on a couple of 'clean' installations, so should be fairly to reproduce.

As in my earlier post, if you need a hand with re-installing, please contact us first. The helpdesk backlog is pretty much cleared, so we should be able to get back to you fairly quickly.

Please ensure you send the ticket to the TS12 department, so we can locate them easily.

We do apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you to all for reporting this to us, and for the information provided.

No problem Zec, it doesn't take me that long to reinstall :D after all these years I'm getting pretty good at it:hehe:

By the way, before you do a re-install, drop us a ticket at the helpdesk (I would recommend anyone seeing issues with the patch drop us a ticket as well, so we can investigate this fully).

We can then walk you through backing up your content for re-installing, as well as look into the possible causes at the same time.

Hmmm ... with a backlog of over a month I suppose we need to be very patient?

me to just put in a spare hard drive to do a fresh install of trainz and then will copy the files over hopefully

As we have two people working on the helpdesk, we can change 'priorities' for different departments depending on the number of tickets, as well as other things (such as issues like this).

As such, we will be giving higher priority to the TS12 department to be able to assist with this issue.

As it is, the helpdesk backlog is pretty much non-existent now, so there shouldn't be too much of a delay either way.

Patching Error

I have no idea what I do differently to everybody on this post who is getting a bad install of the patch or it just will not patch.

The patch worked perfectly on my system applied to both the retail and beta builds. No errors at all during the patch process and in fact I have been heavily using TS12 on a new route which is over 500MB just for the map file and have not encountered one error yet.

System Specs:
AMD X2 64 Dual Core 3.2GHz
4GB DDR2 Dual Channel RAM
nVidia GTS450 Video Card
500GB Seagate HDD
Gigabyte Motherboard
Thermaltake 700 watt Power Supply
Win7 64bit Home Premium
AVG 2011 Internet (Licensed)

Anti virus and AVG firewall are both running when I do a patch.

Last install of Win 7 was beginning of January this year, OS is patched to the latest level.

Clean install of TS12. I run weekly defrags of all HDD, defrag and clean registry file every couple of weeks. So as I said previously, I can not see what I do differently to any of you who are getting this problem. Even after reading through the whole post on this, I still couldn't figure it out why my patch worked and yours didn't.

I know this does not help any of you, maybe Zec and the team can get a quick solution for all of you.

Regards
Peter ;)

I, like Peter, have had no problems with this patch, I had to reinstall TS12 due to a HD crash. Then did 46957 to 47795 then 47795 to 48054.

First off apologies for me getting involved in a TS12 problem as I'm a 2010 user but looking through the posts is it a case that those who's update failed have Transdem installed ?

Not I. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the rather large Windows Update I installed on Monday...

Or it could be large volumes of contents installed (speculating, of course) -- some have claimed that they are not having any issues patching, Ed, but it seemed that they installed it just after they installed trainz -- that's what I understood!

Isn't this why there is beta testers ? Honestly I'm happy with the way my 12 works so I wont be patching it at all. I hope you can fix the problem Zec

Funny, after installing the latest patch for the TS12 I can watch locomotives in the game, but I can probably forget about playing.

Born such a question, whether the amendment checked by the beta testers, whether we have been beta testers? If I was a beta tester, please pay for my work, just 1000, - EUR. I give the account number on PW
Cheers,
Stan

Hi,

I guess only way out of this is to uninstall TS12, then reinstall it again?

I to suffer from the same issues pointing out in this thread, to late for me though, but good thing is I had a backup of the stuff as I did a open for edit of all the installed non built-in stuff and copied that out before running the patch.
Left all the files as open for edit, but that should not matter, should it?

Had about 11-13GB of files, not a large install I would say.

Running Windows 7 on a 64 bit machine.

Zec, I could put in a ticket, but not sure what to say as all the errors I remember to have seen is posted already in this thread, and Trainz looks just like the screenshots above missing Surveyor.
I can open my maps through Surveyor though with the shortcut thingy linking to a kuid of a map or session, so I know Surveyor is working.

Please fix this, so I can see if this patch did restore the ALT+U & ALT+Y keys again or if I should just ditch this program and keep TS2010..

Also, any with a working patch, is it through as I read in the listing of fixes that CMP now refuses to download from the DLS anything with a build number below 2.7 even if it is a non errorish item?

Good night guys

Linda

Well considering they are 2 completely different apps residing in two different locations and they do not interact with or call each other in any way why would you think it would have any bearing?

Ishie

I installed it on a clean version.

Happy i missed patch was available

I installed it on a clean version.

Hi Ed sorry you guys got mouse trapped............ Guess you advice me with 50gb data to stay away till the coast is clear Is the first patch dong anything positiv or just stay away? Roy

I am wondering if Peter and the others who have had success were up to date on the asset updates?

I know every time I have tried so far I was not up to date on asset updates...

I think since I got time to burn I will try that on the next install...

No problems here at all with update on ts12, and I have ts10 ja files on ts12.

I just install updates when they are released.:D
