New CP Route In Wisconsin WIP

We headed for La Crosse today....Left the Watertown area early this morning and when we got to La Crosse we headed right over to the Mississippi River....When we got there the bridge was down and we only knew that ment one thing......

A CP local heads over the bascule bridge

After the local crossed the bridge went back up to let the water traffic go on thru

We then thought we might as well stick around the area and see what we can catch in the La Crosse area and maybe head over to Grand Crossing where the BNSF and CP cross at grade.....Till next time

Shot of the area...More detail will be added later

Well not much went on today.....Took a spin to Milwaukee today to go and visit my uncle and had to do a to run to Wal Mart tonight to pick up some stuff...While I was walking out I heard a horn behind the store...When I got to the car I took out my camera quick and shot a pic across the parking lot...He was spotting a reefer and some boxcars for the store here to be unloaded tomorrow....Tomorrow night he will pull these empties and swap them for loads

I then had to get some gas cause down here it was pretty cheap still...$3.98 a gallon...While I was getting gas the YMI train pulled up (YMI is the Mitchell Yard-National Ave-Industrial Lead switch job)

He got out and went inside to get some snacks for the night...He told me its a nice night out tonight and they have a lot of work to do around town....He said come around tomorrow during the day to catch the other crew that works on the other side of town....So make sure ya check back soon for the other pix.....Till next time

Just some shots of train #202 making its way across Wisconsin

Here we catch it going over Grand Crossing here in La Crosse

Here we catch him coming thru the Fort McCoy Military grounds

Coming into Tunnel City

Coming past the Tomah depot (there ya go Jim, another gal for ya :hehe: )

Last shot of 202 sprinting across America's farm land

Till next time

Thanks for the thought. Next time you see her at the Tomah Depot, ask her how she feels about a trip out to Colorado for some screen shots.

How do you find these people??
Or do they find you??

Great shots, BTW, the helicopter view around La Cross is spectacular.
Your scenery gets better all the time. Keep up the good work!

Thanks....I guess I just run into them when I RR fan.....Next time I see her...I'll tell her to take the Empire Builder out that way towards you....She was on her way towards Milwaukee this time.....Thanks for the comments

Well tonight I went to Tunnel City to await the MADWI (Mainifest Adams to Winona turn)....As we sat at Tunnel City we sat by the UP tracks....Sad thing is we heard a lot of CP trains to wait for this 1 UP train...Oh well...The wait for it is worth it

Here we see the MADWI come into Tunnel City

We then see it leave the UP tracks and hop onto the Tomah Sub of the CP tracks here on the west side of town

Here are some of the cars that are on this train tonight

Now passing the east end of Raymore siding

Coming thru La Crosse passing the Amtrak Depot

This was our last shot of him leaving La Crosse and going over the swing bridge

This was made up off of a video from youtube from a friend of mine which can be seen here:

I did the counterpart for this run but with the some what of using the same cars.........Thanx Jess.....Till next time

86* today....HOT and HUMID TODAY!!!!! Anyways....I figure I might as well go out and about and see what I can see today...Well I was in New Lisbon today just sitting bye the WYE of the Valley Sub that goes North up towards Wausau....While sitting here we heard on the scanner that train 883 from Weston (coal empties) is just out side of town and will be making a stop here at the depot to drop off the WC crew and have a CP crew come on board

Here is the shot we got of him coming off the Valley Sub and making a stop to let the WC crew off and the CP crew on

With the CP crew on board the WC crew waits inside the office knowing that another coal train will be coming here in a few hours the train is making good time on the flats

Entering the siding here at Raymore to meet with train 882 (coal loads)

As we shift our setting over to La Crosse we catch train 882 making its way past the La Crosse Amtrak Depot

About to cross the diamond of the BNSF home rails here at Grand Crossing

Now back at Raymore we see the 2 trains meet 883 on the left and 882 on the right

Back at New Lisbon the 882 makes a stop at New Lisbon to do a crew change where the CP crew will hop off and a WC crew will come on and take this train all the way up to Weston

With the WC crew on board the train heads North towards the connecting track to the WC's Valley Sub

On the Valley Sub now the train notches out up to notch 8 to lift its tonnage up towards the river valley

Till next time

Well the route as another add-on to it...It now goes all the way over to Winona MN

Today was a nice day to head to Wisconsin Dells to hit Noahs Ark....A lil hot and muggy today so it was a perfect day to go....After we got done at the water park we thought we should do some RR fanning while we're here....We looked at the time and the Empire Builder Train #7 was due any minute....We then headed right over there....As soon as we pulled into the parking lot we heard the distant horn of the Empire Builder

Our first shot we catch him pulling past the depot to make a stop here at the Dells

We then went down the road a ways and we let him get to track speed and shot this shot of him sprinting across the land

Here we caught him coming out of the tunnel at Tunnel City

Here he makes a brief stop at the Winona Amtrak Depot

A view from a kids point of view at a day care

Making its way thru Winona

Passing the UP yard where here was once a tower in place called CK tower

Last few shots we caught him on the out skirts of town making its way up towards St Paul

Till next time

Looks very good. Just as a "Content Check" that if you have HP Trainz's Marias Pass route; I think the Winona Station is from that add-on pack and not avaliable anywhere else. You might want to replace it with something else if it is.

One more to add....This was shot near East Winona along the Mississippi River on BNSF tracks....This train was on its way South to the La Crosse yard...The CP tracks are on this side of the river where I was standing
