New Aircraft

I thought of looking at Boston but I could not remember any Airport named there.

Looks an interesting project.

I would guess the 6th Runway is the small one that crosses 2 others.

Is the Tower for Airport Operations or a very expensive Hotel?

Very funny

The sixth runway is actually on the far side of the cargo terminal seen on the bottom of my first screen

The runway is unidirectional so no matter what the wind you can only land on 1 side and takeoff the other

If you would like I am working on a custom airport with 5 runways and capable of gating over 58 aircraft at one time not including parking or cargo
I could post some screens of that too
Thanks
Josh

Good shots. If I were you, I would move the DHL plane way more to the right. There's no way they'd come that close to a building with the wing in real life. :)

Friday again, time seems to go so quickly lately. Made some progress on the aircraft this week. I had a request for some of the older aircraft, that would operate in the steam era. Many of the commercial ones I had done are relatively new, so I have started on some of the more dated aircraft.

The following are available on the DLS, both flying and static models.

Airbus A320 in Tiger Airways and Air New Zealand;

Fokker Friendship F27 in Ansett, Trans Australian Airways and an older Air New Zealand colour scheme;

Lockheed Constellation in TWA;

and the Heinkel HE111.

I have simplified some of these by not including night lights or doing the flap animations, it can take a long time to do the animations because of the wing angles involved.

Naturally the landing gear is still animated, and I have made some of them able to flare on landing using the B key, read the config file for each to see what effects are included.

The prop driven aircraft have the two stage animated props that I think are more realistic, a rotating bladed prop changes to a disk image as speed increases. Pictures above show the disk image. Again, static version are available.

Have fun.

Nice Aircraft Ian!!

Am just finishing off an airport on Ode to Vulcan, RAAF Fort William.

There'll also be a US Air Force Base there as well

Bah! Don't talk to me about Tiger Airways... :n:

Seriously - great models - I'm starting an airport myself...

Thanks Guys, is NZMS around?

I was going to do a Jetstar verison of the A320, but he has reskinned one of the Boeing 737 into an A320, not quite the same but close.

NZMS, as I do not wish to duplicate some one else's efforts, could I suggest you use your reskin on the new A320, it should fit quite well, and release the reskin so as to obsolete your earlier model. This way we get to use your reskin on the correct aircraft shape.

The Jetstar Australia also has the orange underside, that might take a little more work.

Next models should be some DC10s.

Ian

Hi Vulcan and all those Planezers out there!:cool:

I saw the post showing all the new aircraft, and was VERY PLEASED to see the He-111 AT LAST, in all its glory and ready for me to give it a good workout. I do, however, see an absence of identification markings on it... no real loss, I guess. My Spitfires will make fast work of them!

Going to download all this wonderful stuff straight away.:D

Happy Planezing, and of course Trainzing,;)
Scott.

Ian

I am so sorry to ask again, but I can't hold it in, I'm busting to know if any Chinook's and Blackhawks are on the List??

Now were talking.:D

(edit) quick update on my airport set in whales
both loops are completed and all areas are textured with a four line railway which started as a one line from the airports station continuing to the end of the boards (the railway still needs completing) there are three stations so far:
The airport station.
The mainline station. (which is served by two platforms with two lines going between)
The beach station. here's a pic of the beach station
trainz2010-10-1321-03-06-57.jpg

I am going to add a lighthouse to the island.
i plan to add a airfield for military operations further on in the route about halfway in between the next commercial airport and the existing one.
heres the percentages of completion:
texture: 20% done.
scenary: 10% done.
railway: 70% done.
air travel: 25% done.
sea: 50% done.
any questions please ask.
