New Aircraft

Boeing 737 - Virgin Blue 50th Aircraft

Nice work as always Pascal.

The RCAF Globemaster & Jeep are now available on DLS.

After my digression with the Globemaster I managed to finish off the second last of my Virgin series.
This one is the commemoration of Virgin's 50th aircraft. They painted it in this bright blue livery before re-painting it in the current Virgin Australia livery.

The last Virgin re-paint to finish is the Pacific Blue which is proving to be a bit of a handful. I'm also assembling the bits to build a couple of USAF Globemasters ("Travis airbase" & "Elmendorf"). If anyone has specific USAF airbase wants (eg, Chaleston, Dover, McChord), please let me know & I'll generate an additional variant.

Nice reskins, Rob. As you are on the Globemaster, could you make a British one? Livery is not far from the others.

I could find some time to start updating my airplanes with the new flashers.
I started with the A380 and in the meantime, I converted them to version 2.9 and added 2 missing static variants.

Boeing C-17 Globemaster - RAF

Pascal,
I think the RAF Globemaster will look something like this.....

The RAF Globemaster also has a new Jeep Product. These have just been uploaded to DLS.

Any time Pascal.
The RAF assets were uploaded to DLS last night but are still yet to be processed.
I've been working on the USAF variant today. There are many more decals so it is taking a bit longer to complete the work.

Those of you folk who are familiar with Christchurch, New Zealand, may have seen a few of these US Globemasters at the airport stocking up for their summer supply flights to Antarctica.

Hi Revans,

This one is a Bell 206. I will have a look to it. I hope it wont be too long...
Not much pics on the net!

Hi,

The Maryland State Police Bell 206 could be something like that:

I could finally find a good picture. Soon on the DLS (I hope)

In the meantime, I present my best wishes to all Trainzers for 2013.

Lockheed C-5A & Boeing C-17 USAF - Travis Air Base

Just outside Los Angeles, CA, at Travis Air Force Base, the Galaxy fleet is being loaded for another mission.

These carry the Travis insigna on their tails.

Parked next to the Glaxay fleet are a number of C-17 Globemaster III aircraft also re-loading.

Later.... Over the ocean, an hour into the flight, a Globemaster approaches a KC-135 for airbourne re-fuellling. By re-fuelling in the air, the aircraft can take off with much larger payloads without the extra weight of fuel.
Travis use KC-10 Extenders for their re-fuelling. The KC-10 is basically a DC-10 with a re-fuelling boom on the tail. (I haven't managed to convince Vulcan to build us one of those yet.)

The C-5 is a minor re-paint for Travis Airforce Base. It seemed appropriate to go with the C-17. The USAF Globemaster is the latest of my C-17 series.
The USAF C-17 is now available along with the RCAF & RAF Globemasters. The Galaxy is also available.

If anyone has a specific request for a C-5 or C-17 from a specific Military base (USAF or other), please let me know on this thread & I'll see what I can do.

Good move, Rob. I was thinking about US forces in Europe. But my ideas are not clear at the moment..

While looking for pictures about Maryland Police Bell 206, I went across other Bells with Navy or Marines colors at Andrews base. These should be the next repaints.

This little chopper is/was finally very popular everywhere, and can be a good subject for civil or military reskins.

Sure Ian, it's going well at the moment.

Here is a Bell 206 of the US Navy:

Hello

This one is a Bell 206 of the US Marines, based at Andrews Air Base. Similar to the Navy one, with a different orange shade.

Just uploaded.

Thought I might post these shots here. These aren't flyable planes like Vulcan's but animated scenery items. At the moment fairly much at the testing stage. The plane flies in a large circle 1750m radius so it's not obviously flying in a circle. The planes in the shots are 2 separate animations flying together at different heights. Default height is 100m. these are fairly low poly DH Tiger Moths with attached engine sound. Constructing now Gypsy Moth hope to animate this in a more free form way not just circling.

In order to reskin the aircraft, does Vulcan have to be contacted, or are you free to do it as you please? I'm currently developing a fictional airline as part of a major project I'm working on and I'd like to reskin a 737, 747 and A380 into its livery.

No you do not need to contact Vulcan he has already given open permission to do repaints, but please make sure he is listed in the comments of the new asset as being the model creator.

nzld

Thanks! I guess I'll get started on that over the weekend.

I've gone on a reskin downloading spree and some of them have refused to commit - on some, this issue was solved by manually committing the asset after downloading it, but on others that has not worked. I get this error message:

Error: Unable to read config file for asset at 'hash-b6\kuid2 590184 100176 1'

This affects both static and drivable models. I use 2010. Has anyone had these issues?

No problem in reskinning aircraft as mentioned by nzld, please make them available through the DLS. Any other type of models please contact me.

Unable to read the config file usually means that it has been deleted or named incorrectly. Save as config.txt, with Encoding UTF-8 in Notepad. Do not use Word to make or alter config files, it saves quote marks as the wrong type.
