NEC in Trainz 12, warning large pictures

I just about passed out from that shot of Baltimore! That looks fantastic! And im making progress on the E60 but bandicam isn't cooperating so no shots for now :(

thanks blake, and good luck on the E60 :) Today I built Greenwich- Stamford, my route is now nearly 280 miles long!!!!

I watched a video of this route you posted elsewhere and the frame rates are seeming to suffer, especially on your high end CPU. To be honest, im a little worried about that.

Not that I want to create more work for you or anything (what you're doing so far is incredible as it is), but any chance of completing the MNCRR New Haven Line west of New Rochelle, or extending SEPTA's tracks east of 30th Street for the sake of continuity?

He may add sections like those later on. Right now he is working on finishing the main NEC.

Yes, that I understand. I'm just curious if those sections are on his to-do list. The line from New York Penn to Greenwich looks amazing. As for the missing junction notice I got while testing, I'm passing that off as a sim engine bug because I dragged a consist through in Surveyor and found nothing to indicate a problem.

On another note, the area around 30th Street Station could use a little sprucing up especially at the SEPTA parts. The merge with the NEC to Trenton in real life contains more underpasses (see Google Maps) than the recreation currently does, and there is a lot of missing catenary. Plus the SEPTA platforms are way too short for the standard 5-to-6-car consist - they barely fit three as it stands.

Finally, you asked me recently if there is a New Haven style catenary you could use. Try this list:
NH Cat 4t,<kuid:106916:10371>
NH Cat Bridge 6t spline,<kuid:106916:10372>
NH Cat 4t wire only,<kuid:106916:10373>
NH Cat transmission wire only,<kuid:106916:10374>
NH 1T Cat Extension Ear,<kuid:520526:1104>
NH Cat 2t V29,<kuid:520526:1702>
NH Cat 2t Wire Only V29,<kuid:520526:1703>
NH Cat 1t Wire Only V29,<kuid:520526:1704>
NH Cat Glenbrook 4t,<kuid:520526:1717>
NH Cat Glenbrook 4t Mod,<kuid:520526:1718>
NH Cat Glenbrook 4T Wire Only,<kuid:520526:1719>

oh, i know what you mean, i haven't done zoo interlocking, I've tried to do it, but failed more than 5 times :( and can I found the catenary if I copy the kuids in google search (can't try this, i'm writing with my mobile phone) And I've thought about doing the GCT in NY, but later.....(For now I do only tracks on the NEC!)

I'm also making a Maury Povich billboard for the station in Stamford, CT just to get a few laughs out of people ;)

WARNING

There are some broken tracks at Washington Union. Please check all spline points for breaks.

EDIT: There's also a missing river north of Port Chester, and I do believe the station at Port Chester is supposed to be elevated.

EDIT2: AI traffic has a very hard time navigating the route, complaining about not having a path or a junction lever going missing.

Hmm, thanks scott, your reply helped me alot!!
There are enogh paths, but AI does not use them!!!!! Thats the problem!
and there are no missing junction levers, that's a program error....(I've checked all junctions in NY Penn Station more than 5 times!

Here is what I've done :

1.: WASHINGTON: All spline points checked, HP wood tracks with 3D JR's replaced:

2.: Bryam River added (In Port Chester, the river is the border between NY and CT):

3.: Add missing foot and road bridges, fences and buildings between New Rochelle and Noroton Heights:

And Port Chester station isn't elevated, I looked in Google street view.....

Being actually a resident in Rye, right next to Port Chester, I can confirm Port Chester is elevated (I don't know about Google Street View). Also, the catenaries used on the New Haven Line are rectangular in shape, not semicircular. Otherwise, GREAT JOB :)

Here's The Way To Fix The AI Traffic...

In between each town, make a very small spur with BNSF50 Invisible track that leads to a short portal. This is called an "Un-Portal". Many people experienced this problem doing some of the sessions on the MPRX. So run trains the short distance between each "Un-Portal" so traffic can be seen. make sure to repeat the train a couple times so you don't miss the train and make the route seem deserted.

???? On Streetview, I saw that the road and parkinglot are on the same level as the tracks! But otherwise, who cares about a few meters more or less?!
And there is no rectangular catenary available, I'm glad that I found another than the builtin prr catenary I've used before :P

NH Cat 4t on the dls...those are the one's I am referring to. And Port Chester may be elevated on one side then... Some stations appear ground level on one side and elevated on the other. Hope that helps

Un-Portal Tutorial

First here's the basic setup:

Here's Your Train:

Here's the AI Train exiting the Un-Portal after town one:

The AI Train will travel along to "Town 2" Where you hopefully will meet it:

After that, the AI Train will travel along to the Un-Portal between "Town 2" and "Town 3" where it will disappear from the map:

If you happen to arrive after or before the train has passed, make sure to have multiples of that same consist so you are to never miss the AI train passing by you.
