Nice shots everyone.

Now I’m back for the winter it's time to play again! Here’s another one of mine.

One of the secrets of effective Route building is proper research.

For all admirers, users and creators of the infamous beer bottle assets here’s something I recently stumbled upon and just had to take a photo.

Spotted in Pisa Centrale a few weeks back whilst walking down the station underpass. And no, I didn’t put it there!

Even when you're away for a while with little internet access and no PC, it seems there is no escape from Trainz!

Cheers

Hi Casper, it is really good to see you are back. You bring peace and freshness with your screenshot....and I like the smell of rural area and farms... as I think you also do...we call this ''Nature'' as you gave the title to this thread.

Hi Rail4Pete

Thanks for your kind remarks.

And thanks for Beta testing the new aromatic assets (Smellzz).

Here's another nostalgic countryside stink from years gone by.

Isn’t burning of corn stubble illegal these days?

Cheers

Vintage car gets to the Mediterranean

A British tourer takes to the coastal roads of the Italian Riviera.

Huge thanks to jayholland for making this one, the Morris Eight S1 Tourer 1935. It’s part of his excellent Pre-war British Cars series. Full details in the Freeware section.

Thanks also to robin_hoods for all of the work involved in getting the models converted for use in earlier Trainz versions and making them available on the TPR Download Depot, and to TPR for hosting all of the great assets.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the old girl will keep going. A breakdown could be costly, and that vintage taxi in the series won’t go south of the Thames at this time of night!

Cheers
Casper

Oh nice shots Casper. That last one looks like it could be a Top Gear challenge to drive a British car from... well just to drive a British car. I sort of expect James May to be standing there with a map in his hand and a confused look on his face!:hehe:

oh that would be great if we had the TG trio in TRS. I'd hide them into all my routes (along with the other stuff I hide in as well)

trs 2012

Hi Casper,
considering the type of screenshot you post and, I read you consider the scenery very important on typical route, I think you would really like trs 2012 for the view(draw) distance. I was making a route in 2010 and but it did not reproduce all the feeling I wanted because of the limitation of the view distance, but when I transferd it to 2012 I was really satisfied as scenery (trees and building) far away was not desapearing. My route is 4 km wide, 2km from each side of the track, and the feeling is great with the view we get. But yes a high spec PC with a good graphic card is needed, but even with a good pc, 2010 will still be limited for view distance.

Rail4Pete

P.S. and most of content you use will work in 2012

One (or two) for the road!

@Rail4Pete

Hi Rail4Pete.

There a possibility that I will move up to the newest version at some stage. I do like the idea of extended draw distances and layers. I have loads of splines on top of splines. Getting them aligned, or shifted is a real pain. Layers are a great step forward and clearly makes the task easy.

PS Just seen gfisher’s post. I would want to keep my trees!

Or someone sitting there with a face like a roadmap of Wales and a confused looking left hand. Now where have I seen him before?

They may work in TS2010 or TS12, but if you want to keep them looking nice, then beware! David Drake's trees looked great in TRS2004, but in TS2010 Native mode, they do not look so nice  (though they may look better in Compatibility mode; I do not know, for I have not even tried Compatibility mode ).

P. S.: great shots. :D

Regards,

Retro.

Thanks for all of the nice comments.

@FSP
I can assure you that Deane’s derelict person (I must give him a name) has no intention of getting back in the driving seat in his condition!

Peter,

I seem to have got those assets already (with a slight stretch of the imagination).

Here you can see some of the Top gear team in Camogli station car park having a break during the Vintage Riviera Run.

From right to left:
  • Jeremy Clarkson

  • The Stig, in an extremely rare shot without helmet and overalls. Some say he has the power to levitate whenever in the proximity of a Ferrari.

  • James May, packed and ready to go home.
The latter, apart from having to endure breaking down in his Morris, apparently breached the Code of Conduct for bad language and has been banned from the Forum. A little unfair I thought, and certainly no reason to shave his hair off and wear shorts and spectacles to try and hide the shame. That disguise will fool no-one.
