Yeah, sounds about right, wasn't TS2010 available to purchase about 2 weeks before it shipped?

There again, if the 'download' version is available to buy mid-April, that would generally imply that it'd be available to download immediately (unless they pull a JT-like 'buy now, get later' thing).

Many games that are for download usually can be bought pre-order. But the links to actual download the game are not available until the actual release day.(Usual at Midnight of the release day) The advatange of downloading the game instead of a hard copy is you can download it right when its released while those who get a boxed version have to wait weeks or days after release to get it in the mail. Although I believe that when I pre-ordered my Cities XL game that I received the boxed copy on the day of release so they mailed before the actual release day. But this is not typical.

Purchase and release are two different things aren't they? So a normal version of 12 will be able to be purchased around mid April while the release isn't till the end of April. At least that's how I see things.

Unless they push it back/delay it. The current release date is April 21. You can see this when viewing the Anniversary Edition in the store, Delivered from: 21st April 2011. But for any one in the US who pre-ordered this which is a box version wont get it till Mid May as it takes 2-3 weeks to get to the USA. This is just going on from what I have seen on past versions, I pre-ordered 09 and 10 and this has been the case released late November arrived in mid December.

Spec for 1012 for those that ask -- these have been posted on line a few times in 2012 pages so it not that hard to find it - I know as I found it

And trainz runs like crap, Every camera move (slight left or right, or up and down) calls for a pause, not smooth as I expected by a long shot. To my eye the trees dont look much better either. And I did install the patch.
I will look around for adjustments to improve it but this is disapointing, again.

That would be the Quadro, not a gaming card I'm afraid.
They tend to optimised for graphics workstations and CAD stuff, not real time rendering of games. Game performance wise, I just checked on the Nvidia forums, it apparently equates to a just below GTX8800 which isn't really that good for Trainz and just scrapes over the minimum. You will probably find you have to to run everything on minimum settings.

There was a thread on here somewhere a couple of months back where another user was having problems with a graphics workstation card, think he added a gaming card in the end.

The number of pixels in the monitor has a impact as well. 1440 x 900 has many fewer pixels than 1920 x 1080.
