N3V Please confirm Trainz 12 will have a normal version

A number of things could change between now & launch date. Thats probably why N3V are being a bit coy about some of the finer details...

N3V where recently calling for beta testers so one could assume that it's currently being beta tested. NDA will prevent any beta testers from posting their views on TS2012. Lets hope the beta testers do a really good job, so that as many bugs as possible can be ironed out before launch.

We'll just have to accept that it could be a while before the more "meati-er" details will slowly filter through. Ed explains it well as to why N3V havn't disclosed whether or not it will be offered at "the normal price" down the track. We might not find that out until 2500 "Collectors Editions" have been ordered/sold !!!

It's certainly sounding very promising & I'm just really rapped to see Trainz continuing to "lead the pack" and evole...

Cheers, Mac...

Hi, A New Zealand year must be much shorter than here :)

Appoligies, I got an e-mail from a fellow Trainzer who said the launch date was 1st April 2012. (I never bothered to check, so my bad)...

Ok, 27 days then till LAUNCH... Maybe the world doesn't spin as fast "down-under" as it does "up there in the UK" :hehe:

Cheers, Mac...

Either I've lost all grasp of physics, or I'm really confused; this is from the advertisement: Delivered from: 21st April 2011

Oh good that means I don't have to bother with it as I have an AMD video card.

Thanks John

So being the non-expert when it comes to IT matters, does this mean my AMD Phenom 9750, Quad Core 2.40GHz, 4GB Ram, using 32 bit Win 7, And a GeForce GTS450 video card should meet all the recommended requirements? Will me having Win 7 32 bit be a major issue? Is my graphics card better than a GeForce 8600?

Your system more than meets the requirements, and Win 7 32-bit will work okay. Win 7 64-bit is better, but that's okay.

Awesome, thanks John. When my wife gets her Mac (around June hopefully) I will upgrade my OS to 64 bit and add a bit more memory to... Heck, might change the motherboard and CPU while I'm at it - I've been told my AMD Phenom 9750 is pretty outdated compared with the newer versions! Perhaps this will give me a reason to update the whole system :D

That's way cool and a nice excuse to "update" your computer. :)

I just got myself a super laptop, an Alienware M17x, that runs TS2010 as well as my desktop PC. I've deinstalled Trainz from my desktop so now I can sit in the soft chair, or out on the porch rather than at my desk while using Trainz. :D

YAY! I meet the recommended specs! Wait, those are the same specs as Trainz 2010!

Slight spelling error

I have just noticed a small spelling error in the newsletter: the Hungarian route was announced as Debrecen - Nyiredyhaza. The second city should be spelled Nyiregyhaza. It looks as if the person who typed this had a phone conversation, and the wrong spelling is exactly how the city's name is pronounced correctly. While I haven't been to Nyiregyhaza I have been to Debrecen's summer university to learn the language. Just go to GoogleEarth and confirm my correction.
I would think you should have hundreds of e-mails or forum posts from our Hungarian friends, especially from those who originally made the route.

Dralex

BTW, I have already pre-ordered TS 12. I am looking forward to share driving the same route with you.

Guys,
Not sure if any of you check the Trainz Facebook page, but I did today. So reading through the comments I have found out that TS12 Standard Edition has been confirmed for a Mid April release with a digital download or retail version, and cost being around $65.00 (approximately). Click link below to check it out! Good news guys!!!!!

Erm...

Trainz Simulator The digital and retail versions will be available to purchase mid April

The part in bold is the username, in this case, the official facebook representative for Auran/N3V (which lets be honest, is likely Zec :)

Whoa, my laptop specs are 2.2GHz. It says it is needs 3.4 Ghz to run. Aww man. Trainz 2006 and classics run great on my laptop. I can't imaging how good the game will be if the specs are even higher. Wait a minute. I have a dual core intel inside processor. Both of them are 2.2 GHz. Its the T3400 processors. So combined, I have 4.4 GHz. I am not really sure how it works but can trainz 12 run on my laptop if the other versions of trainz run at a great +100 fps. Here are the specs to clear up my troubles.

Dell Inspiron 1545
Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel Pentium Inside Dual CPU T3400 (2) 2.20 GHz
4.00 GB Ram
Mobile Intel R 4 series express chipset family
125GB Memory

I also have a 1TB external hard drive

I really want to be up to date with the train simulators. What's nice about this is that it has a doppler affect. I wonder if it will allow you to manually open doors. It's the first version of trainz to come with multiplayer. If it has multiplayer, I guess it has the metro north railroad.

Purchase and release are two different things aren't they? So a normal version of 12 will be able to be purchased around mid April while the release isn't till the end of April. At least that's how I see things.

Yeah, sounds about right, wasn't TS2010 available to purchase about 2 weeks before it shipped?

There again, if the 'download' version is available to buy mid-April, that would generally imply that it'd be available to download immediately (unless they pull a JT-like 'buy now, get later' thing).
