Hello all,

I took a few shots of my progress with adding a monorail line but I need an opinion. Should I use single beams with cliff mounts or should I use the tall tower support beams?

I'm using the cliff support beam in this shot. My only downside is that to make this look realistic riding along a river canyon, there will be some very severe curves.

So what do you guys think will work better? At this point, I'm not sure what beam I'm going to use. One thing is for sure; This monorail system will be a lot of fun and they will be able to run at high speeds (80 MPH or faster).

go to niartcar's website. Look back in this forum and find his signature, and when you click it you'll find the downloads. then drage the downloaded file to cmp.

As of right now, the file on my website is just the blue, red and orange versions. Im still looking to find someone to host them, but I have met little success so far. If you would like a copy, PM your email and I will try to get them to you this weekend. I noticed that Bulldog1653 has the mismached green monorail, so I will be repackaging the cdp with the updated verions and sending them to you.

cheers

I could take them off your hands for you. Have any idea how you can get .tga's into the DLS?

Hi Guyz --

The NYCMTA package is done -- although I have countless of other items, I willl begin updating all of the monorail stuff beginning in March!!!

One type of item that I think the monorail region lacks is shed for their monorail cars -- I wil bring plenty of these plus some re skinned monorails -- well, til then thanks for reading this post!! :)

Ishie

PS Jay, I'll make sure there's a shed big enough so you can store that huge collection of yours!!!!! LOL

Is that a teal Mark7 I see Jay? Pretty cool stuff, if only my computer wasn't f**ked up:hehe: Hello every one out there. Even though my TRS is damaged, I am still working on 2 new monorail paint skemes. I will be posting some links for my Fushia and Amber reskins soon ( if my computer starts to work again) and email me a picture of anything that can be reskinned. I will make the picture fit the monorail color of your choice. It can be any design or a photo of your dog ( just an example, it can be anything as long as it's not porn :hehe: )
. If you are interested, please email me at frawleysean1@gmail.com

Hope I get some participation:hehe:

Wide River Harbor Station. I added some chain link fences and walkways from the harbor platform to the new passenger station.

UPDATE CONTENTS

Hello Everyone,

Well, the NYC MTA super package is 99% complete --- but now it's time to update what I got thus far for monorail --

I will be updating the monorail stations today, and hopefully upload in the next day or so, etc ... NOTE -- the stations are very basic, nothing fancy, etc!!

I will update this thread as deemed necessary, etc!! :hehe:

By all means, Ishie, keep us informed and updated. Thanks for the compliments on my latest postings.
As I mentioned in previous postings, I have been working on updating a route with permission from the original creator.
At this point, I am only about halfway finished with laying out the beams the way I want. I will tell you this though, expect a LOT of tunnels and some breathtaking mountain scenery.
Unfortuately, I am now hearing that I won't be able to upload this to the DLS because it's in TRS2006. If anyone has space available on their website (as long as I have permission from the original author), I should have this layout ready for upload in the next few weeks.
Ish, if you're able to, please E-mail me any updated stations you have, I would love to have a look at them and see how they would work.

Hi Jay,

Maybe you can change the build number of the route via cmp to 2.7 and upload then .... Also, pm your e-mail -- I 'll send you my updates and new items as I package them!!

Hello all,

As promised, here are a few new shots for you all to enjoy.

Monorail Teal heading for the harbor to drop off passengers. The BNSF locomotives shown are paywares from World of Trainz.

Here's one of my surprises. I recently modified the bridge shown here to handle monorail beams. Given the depth of some of the canyons in this layout, I knew the tallest monorail beams wouldn't work.

This one was a little tricky. Because of how narrow the canyon crossing is and the way the track was laid, I had to find a way to make this work. Instead of putting in another bridge and making it look crowded, I decided to leapfrog the canyon and meet the rail line about a mile or so further down.

This was another tough call. When I decided to do the improvements/modifications to this layout, I knew there were going to be some crossings over major waterways that are used for shipping. The monorail beams and supports over the water would interfere with the ships and ruin the overall look. As a result, I decided to add a tunnel that runs below the surface and won't cause any traffic problems.
In order to make that work, I had to notch in a trench for the monorails to pass through smoothly instead of making it look like a roller coaster (that could have been interesting though).

I welcome all comments. Enjoy!
