Monorail, Maglev, and other alternate screenshots

interestingly your message changed as it got repeated...

As for your second Q: there are a couple repaints of the built in one on the DLS. If you search under my username I have done a repaint of it into the Chinese SMT livery. I seem to recall there being another DB livery, and an NS one.

intersting

(other than the DLS)

thank you

Yes, it is interesting....

If i may speak on his behalf, he is my younger brother by several years. He is just learning to use this forum and has no prior experience communicating in such a way. I will try my best to watch over his posts and activities and guide him to follow proper forum rules. I of course can not catch everything that he will be doing, but I can say that he has respectful and friendly intentions. So if called for, I would appreciate any friendly and helpfull corrections you may determine to be necesary in response to inappropriate posts. If he does raise any concern in the community at any point I would appreciate a PM or email informing me if I have not allready caught it.

cheers

Hi guys,

Well, I am updating my huge MTA kit, and as soon as I do that I will be updating all of my tram work, plus some reskins, etc! The tram stuff is just filled with errors, etc now that Auran has change a few things that the DLS will not passed!

Anyhow, great shotz guys!!!

Hello all,

After getting permission from Bartosz Banasik to do some upgrades and improvements to his Death Valley Line layout, I decided to do some tinkering. I haven't decided if I'm going to incorporate a complete monorail system given that most of this layout is in some very serious mountain terrain.
If I do go ahead and add the monorail system to this layout, I fully intend to pull out all the stops and do it right. The biggest problem I have is that this layout has a harbor on each end of it. The problem is that I can't change the harbor track into the passenger area so I may have to put in a transfer station for passengers to go from monorails to ground rails.
I'm still playing around with the idea and thought I would post what I have here. As always, I would love any comments or suggestions.

Thanks to NIARTCar for these reskins. I LOVE them and intend to use them extensively.

Great work Jay!!!

Since I am not into the tram thing just yet, I do have an idea for your passenger train and monorail combo -- (if creators read this idea, and would like to create the idea it's fine with me) -- but what I have in mind, Jay, that you might need in a huge station that can support both monorail and passenger train at once! When I'm done with my MTA kit, and if no one has done such an item, and if you're still working on that route, I think I can something like that!!

That sounds like a great idea! Here's a screenshot of a station idea I have. I figure if there's a monorail beam on one side and a regular track on the other, then that could be one option to look at.
Most of you probably remember the layout I was working on last year. Unfortunately, I lost it when my computer crashed. What I didn't lose were the monorail stations, the Ticket Center, and the Monorail 'roundhouse'. You can bank on me using all of them and probably the Contemporary resort. Like I said, I'm pulling out the stops on this one.

The Mark VII Monorail Green awaiting passengers. Note the beam lowering to the station. The outbound beam will eventually rise to it's normal operating height of about 7-15 meters.

Monorail Fan Here:hehe:
If u could give me the TTC and Monorail Shed in a CDP for TRS2006, I'll owe you big time with my Year of a Million Dreams, Teal, and Maroon Monorails.:udrool: :mop:

As I said earlier, I have a few surprises for this route. Here's one of them.

This monorail shop is set to handle 10 monorail trains at one time. At Disney World in Florida, two monorails will stay parked at different stations overnight. In the event of an overnight freeze, then the trains will be parked in the Contemporary resort to keep them protected. No monorail will spend two consecutive nights out of the shop. Monorail red, shown on the far right, is parked in the paint shed and major maintenence bay. All other bays are for general repairs and upkeep.

This is the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) used in Disney World in Florida. In real world operations, the three beams you see take people to hotels, EPCOT Center, or the Magic Kingdom. I'm using it as a major transfer station for people in the city and possibly to other places.

Monorail Purple is shown heading out from the TTC platform 2 into the city. The construction shown is due to the overwhelming popularity and demand for the monorails. There will be a total of 2 (maybe more) large parking garages to handle the car traffic.

Monorail Gold is making a regular stop to pick up passengers.

Notice there are no direct beam crossings. There are 2 reasons for this. The first and most obvious is to avoid collisions and allow the smooth flow of traffic. The second being that I want this to be as realistic as possible.

Enjoy. I welcome all comments.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before or not, but unfortunately I lost all previous work from the original layout I was working on. Luckily, I did manage to back up all of my monorail files, etc. I'll probably do another layout but I don't know yet how big it's going to be. Look for updates.
