Regarding <kuid:147131:290015> (which isn't available any more) please re-download the updated route pack from the Erecting Hall to have that asset replaced by another one from the DLS.

Chris, I can't really tell you what to start with... I myself did some rough track work first, then adding walls/backdrops and all that MRR stuff. Other people prefer it the other way round. Be prepared to have to change/adjust a lot of things later anyway.

An interesting idea but I'm not aware of any existing 'G' scale assets. On the face of it making them could be as simple just 'scaling up' existing meshes but I don't think this would look right and extra detail would need to be added, meaning basically starting again from scratch. I can't see many people wanting to make 'G' scale routes so the "market" for any assets created (even free ones) would be very small, restricting the number of people willing to create them.

You could, of course, have a go at making some yourself using Blender & Gimp.

All you really need is textures and giant billboard trees and basic rocks. The existing ho scale walls could be used to build the house itself.

A new community has popped up.

Looking at the old coal yard from back when coal was the main heating source for houses.

Straight through the turnout takes the PVR on the old NKP line, right stays on the Wabash.

The only train I found was some cars setting in storage on whats left of the passing siding.

The only thing that distinguishes your screenshot, from a real RR scene, is the lack of animated points

If you type CNR in the search bar you'll find switch machines made by Tlanders I believe the one in the photo is a mainline version.
