I am not into the module approach, but these examples are top notch. It would be nice if you builders would set standards so that layouts could be easily exchanged, some what like the N'track standards.

Hi Modest Empire Traction is being tested, there reporting low frame rates and we are trying to find out why.

While this is going on I building a Modified Version of the Great Northern Pacific from "a HO Layot that grows". The fiddle Yard is connected to the top right by a Y so it can be used by both ends of the point to point run and also as a 3rd line half way along as well as extra sindings added, this was the layot I was going to build myself in N gauge. Some of the alterations from "How to Operate your Model Railroad" and some Extras by me. I had a full day timetable for this line for both weekdays and weekends and this is the line I built my Waybill program for. The only problem with this layot is the only way for 2 trains to pass is one to back into a sinding or other line to let the other one to get passed normally Piedmont switch and Mineral Jtn so not suitable for automatic operation but but make a intresting challange as a multiplayer running my timetable session.

heh, the NM&W weren't actually mine, Isegrins created the railroad and Tim did the reskins of the F7s. I do believe those are my B&URR F7s in the later shots though ;)Epic scene, mate :D
Cheers

Really brilliant work everyone! I saw this thread a couple of days ago and had to give it a go, such a brilliant idea!! I have built a few model style layouts before but never used any techniques like these to make it look so model-like!

Anyway here is my first and admittedly basic attempt. A small Australian route with an 'L' shaped section and a hidden loop with yard for extra trains. It's still a work in progress as you will probably notice my table isn't very high! Could someone point me in the right direction of those curtains for underneath the table? Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the pics! I apologise in advance, this is nothing in comparison to the routes you have all been making! It's a start at least..

An overview:

Please excuse the US school bus! And the fact there is no hole in the back drop for the branch line!
