Midwest Grain & PVR: Continue it?

G'day, I do really like MWG and have all three packs but it would be nice to see something new. Personally I would like to see something like BNSF Scenic Subdivision (Stevens Pass) in steam era or transition era.
Regards
Barrie

How about another expansion pack and a session (or two) for v3? It already has more operating possibilities than I probably will be able to take advantage of. I don't think it needs to be any larger

Well I still have a few items here that would make a good start for another PVR pack. Just trying things out here...

That looks amazing!
What type of locomotive is it? Fictional?
I'd say keep MWG content packs going, not the route.

I would love even more PVR power, can never be enough. Instead if expanding MWG how about creating a new route using the model layout scheme thats growing in the community ?

The PVR was my inspiration to the new model railroadz trend. Maybe PVR F7A-B, SD45-2 and GEVOs? And that lonely Baldwin S12 needs another road name. Also perhaps some commercial structures to go with those cool looking industrial buildings. I think everybody is using these buildings on their model railroad layouts.

I 2nd this motion fully! :) Some sessions would be awesome!

How about a series of routes that have something in common? For example, a series of routes based on shortlines that make up Genesee and Wyoming.

Suggestion part deux : The place were the big Alco's still run, the Olean-Driftwood over the WNY&P, and you could also add the B&P Driftwood-Dubois. That gives us 3 railroads, The WNY&P, B&P and NS.

Well I'll pitch in my $0.03 here...

Throughout Midwest Grain, I've enjoyed every bit of it. It's become one of my favorite routes to run my consists over until the tracks need repairing. Another PVR would be splendid, or even another route would be outstanding. The big question in my own opinion is, how would you expand MWG? Would you extend the mainlines even farther out, or expand the scenery with multiple baseboards on each side, possible expansion of the Southern and Western sections would be nice. That... or something new. Question is what would be new? A 1940's themed route would be interesting to see since there aren't any good quality steam era routes that have been released from what I've seen, let alone Lilb has his steam content sitting around :o

My answer, do whatever you want! I'll likely buy it, or download it either way

Cheers! Alex

I think its a great route and should never be forgotten but my out look would be to keep fresh things moving through, so in saying that maybe something new?

Maybe a poll on the site might help on this one as well!? Just an idea, but never the less keep up the good stuff JR! Never mind what you guys lean towards it will always be a positive & a jaw dropper! ;)

Cheers Daniel

MWG is great. But something new is needed. Some new routes like-

-Great Northern Scenic Sub (either GN or BNSF era)
-SP Donner Pass (SP or UP era)
-WP Feather River line (WP & BN or UP & BNSF would be neat)
-ATSF Raton Pass connecting with the Raton sub (ATSF era only)
-ATSF Chillicothe Sub (ATSF era)
-ATSF Seligman Sub (ATSF era)
-Extension of the Mojave sub to include the line from Mojave to Barstow including the yard at Barstow.
-UP Wasatch Line from Ogden, UT to Green River Wyoming (steam transition to include Big Boy's and the 8500hp Turbine diesels)
-Montana Rail Link route.

I know some of these route have already been done or done in the past but it would nice to see JR's take on any of these challenges.

MWG is great and I think you guys should continue with it instead of moving on to something new. Maybe you could go back in time to the steam/transition era and adapt some of lilb's & simulatortrain's content to a 1940s-50s era PVR. Expand the depth of the route, so to speak, rather than the length. Maybe it's just me, but I've always loved looking at old maps and photos to see how things have changed compared to the present. Might be neat to do the same with a Trainz route. Heck, an transition era content pack alone would still be pretty cool.

OK, I think what I will do now is the following. I will do one more PVR content pack for the MWG which will be a variety of mainly power, bigger stuff like SD45's, SD45M's, SD40-2's, SD50's, as well as an 80 & 90MAC and possibly 1 or 2 new items none of you have seen yet. I really like the idea of transforming a version of the MWG into a steam era typr route... I will talk with some of our guys and see what we can come up with. I really appreciate all of the feedback, it helps to understand what you guys would lile to see!

Thanks!

Mike
