Merged 2 great routes!

I was reading elsewhere on the forum about large train yards -- and the Ida Terminal route has them nicely done. Then, the Indiana Western Route shows up on the DLS and it is exceptional. Stunning scenics, lots of mainline, industries.

I got a silly idea to merge the two routes and did it. I put the Ida Terminal route across the top of the Indiana Western and linked them with a couple of extra junctions near the Kokomo Power Facility into an area just off one of the big yards in the Ida Terminal. At the other end I did the same thing. A little bit of scenic work needed to be done to 'blend' the two routes, but it came off really nicely.

This should be fun to run.

The Ida Terminal Route is posted at http://www.gaurc.us/?p=282, the Great American Underground Railway site. It is a huge file, over 400 Mb as a compressed route, and over 500 Mb installed. You'll need a hefty system in order to run it, and when combined with the Indiana Western Route even more. If you download the Ida Terminal Route, there is a Service Pack to get as well: http://www.gaurc.us/crewroom/caddylars/IdaTerminalSP1.cdp

When you read about the Ida Terminal Route, you'll see that Lars released it very slightly unfinished. You do need to be registered at the site, and there is a download link listed.

Due to the size of these two routes when merged, I'm sure it could not be put to the DLS.

....And you wouldn't be allowed to do so either.....
Releasing Mine/or others creations under your own name is not a good idea, without the authors approval.

Personally, i never approve such things, unless i know the person well.

With no disrespect intended to Harpman, as I'm sure he never intended to upload his creation, the way I see people requesting the mailing of files on the forums now and the general state of the DLS and N3V support and such, I pretty much fear that any consideration for copyright is a thing of the past!

Don't worry. I'm fully tuned into that concept. I wrote many sceneries for Flight Simulator over the years.
One thing I WILL do is pass along a genuine thanks for a terrific Ida Terminal Route. After the merge, I'm still tweaking up some of those scenic items where the baseboards meet, and thinking about what to do with that unfinished area of the board. What was your intent on those as I'd like to incorporate at least your ideas onto the masterpiece you made here. Thanks again for the Ida Terminals Route. The yard work is tremendous, I look forward to many, many hours with this merge.

Ahh yes, the empty space.....
Actually, a lot of that space should end up as water, surrounding the new harbour....
I did some of that job earlier, but canceled everything.
lets just wait and see what happends....

Oh, now that sounds interesting! I certainly do hope you'll continue to progress on this.

As I mentioned, the yards in this route ought to be a switcher's dream. You did excellent work Lars, again my thanks!
