Major Tri State Area Project

Surprise, Surprise. Look what we have here. An NYA GP38 made it's way to Manitou along Metro North's Hudson line in Putnam County. Across the river is the CSX river line.

Here is some more work I did along the Hudson line and CSX River line today.

How does everyone like these screenshots? I am going back to my old style of route building in trainz.

Yesterday and today I have spent a some time editing the DEM. I deleted all the excess baseboards by hand, no special tools or anything. It took awhile but I am happy with my result. The Major Tri State Area now has several topography and elevations from New Canaan to Stamford (New Canaan Branch), Stamford to Mount Venon East (New Haven Line), Mount Vernon West to Chappaqua (Harlem Line), Ludlow to Peekskill (Hudson Line), and Englewood to Nyack (New Jersey Transit and CSX River lines). I deleted all the excess baseboards so my desktop cpu and gpu would not have to work extra hard to produce everything on the screen. Thought this would be a great idea. At this rate, it looks like it would be possible to have the all of the Metro North lines and LIRR lines and some NJT and freight lines in one whole route. Can't forget about Amtrak's Empire Connection and Northeast Corridor.

Yeah, NEC from Secaucus to New Haven is a must, because that's where the NJT mainline crosses the NEC. MTA West-of-Hudson lines pass through Secaucus.

Great news. I deleted all excess baseboards for two different DEM's. So far, all of NYC is complete along with all of Westchester County. Merged two DEM's and it snapped in place perfectly. There was a drop in fps when I merged the DEM's but I just saved it under a new name and my fps went back to normal. All that is left is Connecticut and Long Island.

Today marks a momentous day in my history. I graduated from high school today. Won many awards and won 3 scholarships. Words cannot explain how happy I am today. Next stop is College.

Awesome! I still have another two years to go but my goal is to become Secretary of Transportation for New York City or New Jersey.

Great news. I have been working on Penn Station. 90% of it is complete. The track work may not be as accurate as it's real life counterpart but I like how I built it. I have included the Hudson River tunnels, part of Amtrak's West side line, and the east river tunnels. My next stop is Sunnyside yards. I will post some pics in a bit.

Thanks drchoi21. Here are some pictures of the route so far. First, we have an LIRR M7 departing Penn Station bound for Jamaica. After that, we have an ACELA train pulling into Penn Station. The third picture features NJT comet IV push pulls and AEM7-AC's with Amfleets. The fourth picture takes place over in Long Island City, just east of the east river tunnels is LIRR MP15-AC's with LIRR's M1 sandite car and a box car. The final picture is some construction going on along Amtrak's West side line at 39th street in Manhattan, a few blocks north of Penn Station.

Thank you Acelejalde:). The track in the last picture is called HN2 LBrown A. I am also using a mixture of HP tracks, Greenery tracks, and JR tracks in Penn Station. For now, I am using the older chunky mesh track because there are a lot of varieties and it is easier for the computer to render them.

This is extremely amazing man! I've been waiting for an LIRR route on any sim and here it is, awesome work man, I'm actually working on the Long Beach Branch, also would this be suitable for Trainz 2009?
-Adam (keep up that fantastic work man!)

Thank you everyone. Right now, this is being made in Trainz 2010, but this route should work in Trainz 2009 if you have Service Pack 4 installed. Adamnwk7:, what station are you up to on the Long Beach Branch. In a couple of months hopefully, this route will be extended to Long Beach. I hope to even extend it as far as Montauk. But for now, the last station in my route is Valley Stream. Amtrak2041864, in a couple of months, this route may feature some of the NJT lines. Two lines that I definitely would like to complete is the Main line (Port Jervis line) and Pascack Valley line

I'm done from Long Beach to Lynbrook. It's awesome that you might extend it as far as Montauk and how much pride you have in yourself, thanks!
-Adam
