LMS and BR Standard Locos

But with George you make a great partnership! :)
I just don't want to bug him with diagrams and requests. The temptation is there!

I'll learn with Paul Hobbs' updated Blender tutorial, with the Caledonian Single, once it's ready. I can then start with small shunting locos and work my way up to 'Turbomotive' or a Midland Railway 'Spinner', both of which I have diagrams for. :)

Kieran.

Edit: An example of the kind of stuff I find: http://www.aqpl43.dsl.pipex.com/MUSEUM/LOCOLOCO/turbom/turbmdwg.gif

Another name to look out for, good luck with the tutorials.

Kieran...
Make life easier for yourself and start with a loco that doesn't have an external piston. Or, if it does, make sure it is a "level" pistion - i.e. straight down the Y axis. Slanted pistons are really difficult for animation.

I think we drifted off topic.:o

Philskene, what does that 9f download appear as in Content Manager? I downloaded and added it but can't find it in content manager now :/

Hi

Look for "BR 9F" followed by single or double chimney. There should also be Evening Star and Black Prince as well.

Brian

Turbomotive has no valve gear, only connecting rods. For my first loco, I'm building a 4-6-2. ;)

I hope you have drawings for both sides of the Turbomotive as the one you linked to earlier in the thread shows the main turbine side. The main turbine was much larger than the reversing turbine on the other side so the two sides look quite different.

Hello Brian,

I am aware of the difference in size of the main and reversing turbine, but I unfortunately do not have diagrams for both sides. I'll have to keep looking. I may even have to just go from pictures of the side of the locomotive.

At least I have plenty of time to search. :)

Kieran.

Edit: Looking at the pictures here, I don't think there's much of a size difference on the turbines: http://douglas-self.com/MUSEUM/LOCOLOCO/turbom/turbom.htm

Hi Kieran

Unfortunately I've not received any email from you yet. There's nothing in my spam folder so I don't know what has happened to it. Can you try sending me an email through the forum if you want the drawings.

Regards

Brian

Still nothing come through Kieran. I have to go out now but I'll check again when I get back this evening. It's a long way from Australia and its all uphill to the UK.

Brian
