I'll learn with Paul Hobbs' updated Blender tutorial, with the Caledonian Single, once it's ready. I can then start with small shunting locos and work my way up to 'Turbomotive' or a Midland Railway 'Spinner', both of which I have diagrams for.

Make life easier for yourself and start with a loco that doesn't have an external piston. Or, if it does, make sure it is a "level" pistion - i.e. straight down the Y axis. Slanted pistons are really difficult for animation.

Just search for name = "9F". You could add the author lielestosbrat.

Look for "BR 9F" followed by single or double chimney. There should also be Evening Star and Black Prince as well.

Turbomotive has no valve gear, only connecting rods. For my first loco, I'm building a 4-6-2.

I hope you have drawings for both sides of the Turbomotive as the one you linked to earlier in the thread shows the main turbine side. The main turbine was much larger than the reversing turbine on the other side so the two sides look quite different.

Hello Brian,

I am aware of the difference in size of the main and reversing turbine, but I unfortunately do not have diagrams for both sides. I'll have to keep looking. I may even have to just go from pictures of the side of the locomotive.

At least I have plenty of time to search.
