Very sorry to hear about that. :( Tell me, what evil thing exactly is robbing you of your eyesight? I do wish you much luck on this issue, I imagine you will get on fine.

alien3,

When I first read your thread , my initial thoughts were , another member posting their exit and awaiting a slew of 'please don't leave replies' !
I must begin to realize that some members have reasons beyond their control for leaving , and I apologize for my initial thoughts .
This is very sad news indeed , and I hope somehow you find a way to continue on the Forum , and with Trainz ?

Best of luck , and if you must eventually leave , you will be missed --

This is terrible news indeed. I am suffering from degeneration of my eyesite as well, but have not yet received the upsetting prognosis that you have. I'm very sad to hear of your fate, and can only say that Trainz and this community will be that much poorer without you.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are in the commiseration mood!

Thanks for your work!

 Thanks Alien3, for the different content you have produce over the years.

I regularly have checked on your username in the DLS to make sure I don't miss your latest release.

I hope your medical condition improves.

GodSpeed Alien3!

Tis indeed a sad day, sorry to hear of your eyes problem. Maybe after getting away from the computer for a few months rest, will be a little better.

Go to another specialist, as they sometimes make mistakes. My ex-mother-in-law lwas losing her sight, till she had laser operation to replace her corneas, now she is fine, seeing better than before !!

Keep the chin up Alien, be sad to see you go

I am sorry to read about this I will pray for you and your eyesight the power of god is mightier than any medican can be :)

Well this is a shock sad news Alien3 you will be missed by everyone and thanks for you many varied creations

This is rather sad to read. I wish you the very best in the future. And as other have mentioned I do hope possibly the doctor is wrong.

Good luck, take care.

Whilst I think about it now is probably the time to explore things such as audio books on download, radio programs on internet etc.

Skype maybe useful to keep you in touch. There used to be a number of programs that blind people could use to use a computer for email etc. It's been some years since I was involved with blind or partially sighted people and computers so my knowledge is probably out of date.

If you get bored there are a large number of people around on Skype who want to learn English and Skype is being used in this area.

This is really sad news. :( I like everyone else, am very sorry to hear it. You will be missed Alien3! I agree with barn700 though: go visit another specialist just to be sure. Who knows? Technology is advancing so rapidly and there is always hope, so don't give up!

Regardless, we wish you all the best and we hope your condition can improve!

All the best!

Gisa ^^

dang, man. I don't think I could get by without my eyesight. Best of wishes to you man, shame it had to end this way.

Sorry to hear about your problem, as the others posted, see another specialist and get confirmation, there's always hope. Wish you the best for the future.

This is indeed bad news, I would like to just say I was given some grim news in relation to my back and I'm currently looking for other opinions.

The good news Sir is I stumbled onto several other treatments I had no idea was available to me, and my family doctor had not thought of these treatments either...

I truly wish you well and if you haven't yet done so, get a second and third opinion from other eye specialists.

Take Care,

Lorin

Sorry to hear this news. Good luck with what ever direction this takes you, and there are ways to continue to access the internet. The Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) has plenty of information.
